Here's an easy fix to a dumb problem. If you can't take a photo with your manual (analog) or vintage lenses on the Canon EOS R5 or EOS R6, that's normal because by default these lenses don't work in stills mode on Canon cameras. I don't know why Canon factory settings come setup like this, maybe it's to protect the sensor if users don't power down the camera between lens changes? Luckily there's an option in the menu called Release Shutter w/o Lens and turning it ON will allow you to take photos with ANY manual or vintage glass (that you properly adapt of course) and this likely applies to the EOS R6, EOS R as well as older cameras like the 5DmarkIV, 1DXmarkii, etc....
I know this is a pretty "basic" video and I'm sure veteran Canon owners will already know to change this setting when they first get the camera but I always forget about it myself and I'm sure I'm not the only one who spent more than a few minutes digging through the settings! For some reason, Canon didn't put this option in an intuitive section of the menu, it should have been on the camera's Shooting menu (the first few pages) but instead it's hidden much deeper mixed in with a bunch of misc options.
