I got this lens recently to get into a bit out wildlife and motorsports photography with my R7. It’s great, I have the option of 1.4x, 2x, 0.71x or just the regular adapter. I find it’s a stellar lens but on the heavy side and wish the IS mode 3 was on my 70-200/2.8ii.

Hi Joe I have the R6 with the Canon 100-400mm mk ii, I use this for animals/zoo photography, I'm problems with Tracking with the R6, even though I have a custom button set to detect the eye. Is this problem because it's not an RF lens? Would be grateful for your comments on this please.

Its for sure abit slower tracking than a DSLR would be with it, I didn't find many issues though, I would tend to spot focus then engage eye tracking, Hopefully that might help you?

How IS the Performance with 1.4 extender I guess do to 20MP and 400mm the Option would be interesting

I haven't tried it with a convertor yet but will take it out and let you know!
