Hahaha nice! I just did something kind of similar today, in the wholesome category. I joined an open sloop and dug up a Siren skull key. Another crew dug up the Chest and came to us. He was Solo so we crapped on him. We collected both and sailed away. The same Sloop spawned on the way we were heading and we sank him for the second time. While we made a quick stop at an island for supplies and a rowboat, the guy came back a third time... And same again we sank 'em. We was swimming by his now sunk boat so i jumped into the water and played my hurdygurdy feeling like he was going to claw my eyes out. He, instead, played along and i let him come aboard. I even gave him the key to open the chest debating if it was safe or not. I felt bad. He was wearing the fresh Sailor outfit so i asked my cremate if he'd mind if we let this man sell the skull. My teammate said he hasn't sold a single one and that the skull would've been his first. At that point i knew what i had to do... give up my spot on the boat and let them crew up and sell the Siren Skull together. I told them to add each other and send the man a game invite after i left the crew. I left them and don't know for sure if they ended up adding each other and/or joining the crew to both get paid. Hope they become and stay friends in the Sea of Thieves. 🍻
