I love you, bro. Very long time watcher/subscriber...but first time commenter. I've been watching since you did the interview on Frightbox with Bobby. That's when I first saw you. Since then, I try to NEVER miss one of your vids, and I soak up every bit of knowledge you have to offer, and if I don't fully understand something, I watch it until I do. I truly believe in you. That you're genuine, honest, and have a very real desire to make every song the best it can be in the eyes and to the ears of the people who created each one....to make sure the message is conveyed in THEIR vision....and to share the knowledge of the process you have acquired along the way. My mixes suck..lol..but are light years ahead of where they were before I discovered you...I can't say enough, bro. Much peace, love, and appreciation in your direction... It's free, but priceless knowledge to those of us who have the same desire. KZfaq-land can be brim-full of bullshit a lot of the time. I've never felt that way for one second watching your channel.. I'm not a huge Jason Mraz fan, I am a metalhead at heart, but I will leave u with one of my favorite lines of his... "I feel like you’re an island of reality in an ocean of diarrhea.". ✌️

There are a lot of channels on KZfaq that try to teach mixing and music production. For me, who I choose to trust comes down purely to what their work sounds like. I don't usually comment on KZfaq, but just wanted to thank you for everything I've learned hear. I'm happy for you to have this realization! From someone who got accepted into your mixing program, but truly can not afford it, I'm so thankful for the free content you have here. The videos that helped me most were probably the least popular ones. The magic frequency/ eq videos and the newer deep dive compression videos have changed and improved the way I look at mixing in such a short amount of time. I can't wait to hear from the other engineers you've trained and trust. That's one thing I love about URM, it's nice to see how different guys have their own approach to pro results. I think that's a brilliant move for your channel. Thanks for doing what you do and always evolving as a teacher!

Jordan, as someone that not only has been a fan of your work, but also had the opportunity to do Black Salt Audio stuff with you, I think it goes without saying that you are someone I’ve looked up to for years and years now. I myself ran into my own KZfaq burnout moment not too long ago. It’s really an honor to be able to listen to one of your heroes be so open with their audience and choose sincerity over prevalence. I literally hate everything about social media. The algorithm is predicated on a system that has essentially destroyed all the value of social media and the internet in general. You're so spot on about the burnout of playing the game. I remember, maybe in blissful ignorance, a time on youtube where people just put out content they they were excited about and just wanted to share what they thought was cool and what they were prideful of with people. And now it seems like everyone is just going at it for views and clout. I, too, often get bummed where I put hours and days into videos and am so stoked about a song for it to just get shut down by KZfaq. But you know what, at the end of the day, for me at least, I'm just sticking to doing what I enjoy and hoping that people vibe with it at some point. However big or small the channel gets. Thanks for all your videos, man. Definitely been helpful. 🤘

Thank you SO much Jordan for being true to what “drives you” - I’m sure we all benefit more from the content, when it comes from the heart. I’ve allready subscribed to your channel, joined your mailing list etc… A quick little story: Back in 2014 I had BIG hopes for a future in mixing. Back then I watched a lot of your content. But it all crashed because my ambitions were quite frankly “deluted” - I thought I wanted to do this for a living but my ambitions were not matched with equal devotion etc… It made me sad, but eventually I stopped recording, writing and playing. I now have another job as a teacher - I love it, and I’m good at it. But the music was switched off for almost 8 years. But recently my spark for just creating music for myself was reignited. I remembered your channel, watched a lot of your free content, downloaded your free mixsheet, bought your book, bought two workshops and invested in all the plugins from BSA. My mix litterally sounds twice as good as the things I made earlier - even with a 8 year break, rusty skills etc… I now have a job I like which is not related to music AND I have reignited a great hobby - partly because of your channel. THANK YOU 🤗

I think it holds to the same standard as music itself. I make a niche genre of music that I know isn't in the mainstream but still holds it's own audience of people that find value in what I do. Same applies for a channel like this, every video has been very concise and incredibly valuable in what you offer. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to grow a larger audience, sometimes that comes with a cost of shaking away some atttributes or style that made this channel unique and wonderful in the first place. I've found the advice you've given very helpful, I'll still look up a "Magical..." video if I'm struggling with something, or just need to refresh. I thank you for that, even though I doubt I'll ever be able to justify the expense of doing a course, or becoming a paid member of a community, it's just not where I'm at. Money aside, I just can't make it a priority to be that focussed for it to be worthwhile. I doubt I'll maintain focus long enough for an hour and a half video on automation, despite knowing that I really need to! You do You, and let us worry about KZfaq! Incidentally, while typing this, my phone got a notification from Discord, "Glenn Fricker has just uploaded a video to KZfaq". That's how I know when he has, whether KZfaq tells me or not. I don't really get into Discord much, wrong timezone for there to be anyone to chat to really, but it is the main method of me knowing about his uploads. That might be food for thought. In any case, I see no downside to this new direction from my viewpoint, the mixing tips and tutorials was why I subscribed a few years back, if I want entertainment value, I'll watch idiots doing stupid stuff! Be well!

Without question, this channel has increased the quality of my mixes more than any other channel on KZfaq. I'd even say the progress made has been exponential. The no BS approach and lack of "old man yelling at cloud" energy is a plus, and I like the fact that your videos aren't thinly veiled ads or product demos for companies who send you free stuff. When a plugin shows up on your channel, I know it's because you actually use/recommend it, and it's being discussed because it's actually relevant to the topic at hand. The mixing cheat sheet is an incredibly useful springboard for beginners, as is the instrument mixing tutorial series. I also appreciate that instead of whining about how autotune ruined music or how everyone really should be putting a bunch of mics on acoustic drums when it's simply not practical for the vast majority of people watching, you're just like "Let's fix that hole in your mix to bring the energy and excitement back in." Direct, easy to understand tutorials for the modern musician or budding producer... this stuff is essential and invaluable. Forget the algorithm. We all showed up because we wanted to git gud, and we will continue to show up. Keep doing what you do best. Cheers.

Your automation video for me is the best video I’ve seen in a long time. No one really talks about it or shows it most likely because to so many it’s not exciting but the value I got from it amazing. I’ve been a long time watcher and look forward to whatever you put out next

I believe you are one of the top 5 music production teachers on KZfaq. Screw the algorithm, what you are doing is clearly working and will continue to pay off!

I’m one of those followers who’s been taking advantage of your free content for years, and it’s transformed my mixes. It’s exactly like you said: I’m hoping to become a paying customer one day because I know how much value I’ll get. Music is a hobby at the moment so have to priorise what I invest in each year.

There are exactly two people in my audio life who have changed my work and my thinking forever: Warren Huart and you, Jordan! Although I have never participated in any of your paid programs, all of your free lessons were more than just nuggets of information. Your way of thinking and your nature as a human being brought about lasting change in me. Thank you for that! All the best for the future, I look forward to seeing where you go from here. God's blessing!

I just want to say that I like what you were doing here. And your videos have helped me get better as well. Like major help. I get what you're saying. You should stick to doing what you think is goof rather than play the game. Thanks for everything Jordan

I started following your content in 2015 or so. I continued watching because your videos were informative and useful. Your videos actually addressed issues and presented solutions to recording and mixing that worked. They were not the "entertaining" copy of everyone else's topics. I am, have been, and will continue to be a subscriber and read your emails. Thank you for all of the videos and knowledge. I look forward to your future publications. Thank you Jordan.

Take care of YOURSELF Jordan. You're teaching valuable lessons to people like myself and we want you healthy and happy. I cannot overstate how much your teachings have meant to me. You're smart enough to know when to level out a bit and I'm sure you're gonna make the changes needed to continue and prevail. Thank you sir.

This is definitely the right move. Stay alive creatively! Don’t serve the algorithm. Serve people, and serve yourself.

Jordan, music has been fantastic to me! I've been pro for years and have reaped a lot of financial reward. I live in a beautiful country cottage, have horses , motorcycles prestige car, motorhome... I've been so lucky to achieve so much. Ive had a channel since about 2009 and still have less than 2k. I post literally what I want, when I want. I never wanted to be a slave to yt. I just post for pleasure and hopefully provide something of value to a small audience. I have suffered massively with burn out in my studio, working 7am to 11pm, even though I didn't need to. Think about yourself and get the balance right. Your channel is amazing and I will still be onboard.

I remember when i first came accros your simple how to eq /cheat sheet videos it helped me understand what i was trying to hear 10x faster so thank you for that. If you can continue to provide quality information to people in the community that actually care about production im sure the channel will continue to grow and gain respect as a no bullshit channel. Best of luck and thank you!

i had the same feeling posting videos on instagram and Tik tok . At the beginning it was fun because i was sharing some stuff that me and my friends enjoyed but after reaching 30k followers on instagram it became like chasing of what the algorithm wanted me to do , instead of what i really liked to talked about . As you say thats fine for Entertainers but as artistists cant last for long . i learned a lot from you and i think its fair to you to enjoy what you are doing . Hope everything get better with this changes . Thank you Jordan
