Cantaloop, dirigiert von Christoph Gerl, singt "Norwegian Boatsong" von Silje Nergaard (arrangiert von Patrick Ehrich, 2013) gefolgt von "Settle Down" von Kimbra (F. Tetaz & K. Johnson), arrangiert von Till Buddecke (2014).
Christoph Gerl leitet Cantaloop seit der Gründung des Chores im Jahre 2009. Viele der Stücke aus dem Chor-Repertoire sind von ihm selbst arrangiert.
Dieses Video wurde aufgenommen am 28. Mai 2016 im Theaterhaus Stuttgart im Rahmen des Deutschen Chorfest 2016 (www.chorfest.de/). Es war ein großartiger Abend. Der Saal war schon bis auf den letzten Platz gefüllt, als draußen noch viele Menschen auf Einlass warteten und dann leider doch enttäuscht nach Hause gehen mussten. Vielleicht entschädigt dieses Video ja ein bisschen... ;-)
Das Besondere an diesem Video ist der nahtlose Übergang mit den Haltetönen zwischen den beiden Stücken verbunden mit einem Aufstellungs- und, ja, auch "Energie"wechsel.
Dieses "Nachtklang" Konzert am späten Samstagabend folgte auf unseren mittäglichen Wettbewerbsauftritts beim Chorfest. Am nächsten Tag erfuhren wir, dass wir in der Kategorie Jazz/Pop/Gospel (Leistungsstufe 1) den 1. Preis gewonnen haben. Das war das i-Tüpfelchen auf einem in jeder Hinsicht fantastischen Wochenende in Stuttgart mit großartiger Musik und vielen tollen Erlebnissen.

*** Cantaloop, gegründet 2009 in Hamburg, ist Gewinner des 3. Preises beim renommierten Aarhus Vocal Festival im Jahre 2013 und Gewinner des 1. Preises (Kategorie Jazz/Pop/Gospel) beim Deutschen Chorfest 2016 in Stuttgart. In den vergangenen Jahren stand der Chor mit internationalen acappella-Größen wie The Real Group, Vocal Line, House Jacks und Maybebop auf der Bühne.

Christoph Gerl is Cantaloop's director from the choir's inception in 2009. He has arranged the majority of songs in the choir's repertoire.
This video was recorded on May 28, 2016 at the "Theaterhaus" in Stuttgart/Germany at Deutsches Chorfest 2016 (www.chorfest.de/english/). It was a night to remember in front of a fantastic full capacity crowd. If only the concert hall would've had more seats: People were lining up outside, many had to be turned away at the door. Maybe this video will make up for it ;-)
What makes this video special is the seamless transition of one song to the other in combination with a new choreography and a distinct change of energy and vibe.
This "Nachtklang" concert would follow Cantaloop's participation in the Chorfest choir competition earlier that day. The following day we found out that we had won the 1st prize in the competition, making the trip to Stuttgart all the more special.
