Trespassing is a relatively low-level crime. However, felony theft is another matter. Post signs around your property offering tours for $750. When someone trespasses they are actually stealing a service. $750 makes it a Class D felony. Now the police have much more power to arrest and charge your trespassers.

Crap on a stick. That's ingenious! Plus, that could make it a business with tax credits, and then there is the security, safety, & carry laws that could be included in securing the property/business. Insurance may be tricky/higher, but that's something that would need to be weighed. Sadly, city/town/county zoning could put a stop to it. SO TRUE. I have been in Missouri for 4 years. Ignore my handle name. My teenage son uses this for gaming haha. Anyway, we also bought rurally and have had issues with neighbors JUST LIKE THIS. They think because they have lived here for generations they are entitled to oversee, trespass, and control everything you do on the land you own. As well as just be plain rude. It's very strange and VERY annoying.

Guys, hold your heads up, don’t let anybody to bring you down. Avoid conflicts. I mean don’t let them drag you in their conflicts. Ignore them as much as it possible, don’t give them so much of reaction. Do your stuff, live your dream, make real friends and just be happy. You’re what America is about. So proud of you!

Came from TikTok. Sometimes your going to have to play there games. Have them arrested. Build your case for harassment, then let the sheriff handle it. Once they know your serious they will leave you alone. You’ll have to go that route because some people only understand their fear of being in trouble. Get a gun and don’t be afraid to use it. Protect yourself. Me when the guy was driving the 4 wheeler at you, he would have been shot. Try to avoid that at all costs but your life is more valuable than anything. The gun should be the absolute last resort but when dealing with land and houses people get a real crazy. Stay safe and keep fighting for your dreams.

I can't beleive KZfaq and TikTok hasn't recommended your channel from the beginning, I follow all the content for alternative homes and especially shipping containers. I can't believe this is happening to you guys, I am really impressed with your restraint, they are lucky someone like me didn't buy this property because I would make their lives miserable... I live in suburbs of Chicago .I had a relentlessly crazy drunk neighbor. I was harassed daily. To the point of losing sleep. My word against hers. Finally purchased cameras w/ audio . finally had her arrested using video in court . She got 2 years probation and finally left me alone. My heart goes out to you both. Don't let them take your dream away from you. These people will go away that cant live forever. Continue to stay on the right side of the law and you will be ok. I know all your emotions, confusion, and frustration you have been having!We were in the same situation but it was the old homeowner showing up and calling for multiple different reasons! We ended up selling the property in March after a year and half battle since it wasn’t our dream stop and made a great profit! Can’t wait to see your journey! ❤️

I would also suggest a natural hedge fence. There's arbor vitae used a lot for thick and fast growing, but deer love them and will destroy the lower 6' or so. So in the same family looking almost the same is another one very similar but can't remember the name. Talk to your county forestry dept to source them. Can buy hundreds of seedlings for like .10/ea or something. Plant them in a staggered or doubled formation separated by their growth diameter of 15' or whatever. You want them close as possible without too close to be unhealthy but can't see through

You should have stayed in Texas🤠 Much friendlier down here😎 I had a 120 acre farm in SE Wisconsin for 40 years and the neighbors stayed to themselves. I had to run off a few trespassing hunters in the Fall, but not often. Even though I continued to post my land, Wisconsin changed the law that said you did not have to post. They smartly put it on the person to know if it was private and not public land and not on the land owner.

I live out in the sticks, in Arkansas. We (me and the handful of widely scattered neighbors) have one basic "neighborhood rule"... You can do anything you want on your property, as long as it stays on your property. That pretty much covers fires, late night loud music, bullets/shot/arrows, livestock, dogs, reckless vehicles, etc. Anybody that comes onto another person's property being friendly will be welcome, but anyone that comes uninvited and being aggressive will be dealt with quickly and decisively...and it won't be by calling 9-1-1. One of our sheriff's deputies once told me that our area is one of the few places that they just don't ever have trouble with, because we handle most everything ourselves.

Proud of you two! Maybe you should think about law school at some time! You both are very well spoken and have a calm demeanor! You have also learned so much in such a short amount of time! Having worked for our county I understand how the drama is. Run for an office locally to make changes that are definitely needed! PROUD OF YOU TWO! I can’t say that enough. This happens more often then you think, not to this extent though but still happens. Neighbors of vacant land just get used to the free firewood and hunting. Then get upset when the land finally gets developed and they have to find a new source. Keep up with all the hard work!

Boy do they ever! Recently bought a property with land and a month after moving in, I had to ask a neighbor to stop cutting down trees on our property and leave. Like while we were home this man and his kids just drove up and started cutting down trees. Like who does that?!? He got so mad that I told him to leave 🤦

I am a Texas to Missouri transplant. We also sold our home and many of our things. We bought a rural property outside of a small town and have had similar issues. The neighbors, and people in general, are incredibly entitled. They believe that because they have lived there for generations they are allowed to boss you around on your own property and even drive onto it whenever they want to "check on things". We bought 11 acres but are surrounded by 400 that is mostly farmland, trees and creeks. No neighbors in eyesight and still have these issues. We also, like you, thought we had done all the research to prevent these things. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. I know this video is old but I hope it has gotten better. We are four years in and it has for us! Hold your heads up high and take no shit. You two are amazing!

Millions of things that could be done, but I'd plant some sort of living wall like evergreens etc. along the road so no one can see anything from there. For them to do so it would be trespass. ive been following your plight with “karen and carl” (bad neighbors). id file a protection order/restraining order against both of them. im sure that you sheriff’s office has probably suggested this to you already. i would also sue them for the harassment and stalking. you might also want to seek the advice of the prosecutor’s office as well as a private attorney to remedy this. i can fully appreciate the fact that you guys want to build a home, not just a house! and build it the way you see fit! you have my respect and best wishes!

I don't know how it works its Missouri but as a city employee in Texas, I can tell you that if we receive a complaint from a citizen we are legally required to go out and investigate. Even if we know that the complaints are unfounded, we still have to take some form of action whether it be a site visit, a phone call, a letter in the mail, or hand notice left on site. As a home/land owner, it can be completing fustrating because you are correct it is a waste of resources and tax dollars, but as government employees we work to serve the will of the people. The way I see it, you guys have done everything right and I want to encourage to continue on your path. I know you said you stopped documenting Karen but I would recommend filming her because if it continues and you need to take legal action (i.e. restraining order)you need have current proof.

I’m in Maine. We burn wood in a stove with an oil boiler as backup. Lots of simple build, multilevel houses have the wood burner in the basement with grates in the floors to upper levels and the rising heat effectively heats the house.

I'm sorry y'all have to deal with so much drama and harassment and negativity....when all you're doing is trying to build your dreams. But I really admire your positivity and strength in the face of that that. I look forward to watching your build videos. I've been following former vanlife youtubers who had to buy & build (because covid), so I'm happy to have you guys join my weekly entertainment. One day I might take the plunge and follow all the DIY examples!

This makes me so mad. Can you get a restraining order? I’m so proud of y’all for being so kind and patient. Perseverance sweet couple. I would say put bear traps out but that could hurt animals around. I sure hope someone helps y’all that lives close by. In SC those people would get seriously hurt. Keep doing what you want on your property and don’t let anyone stop you from living your best life.

Wow…I am so sorry you had to deal with this! People are so bored they have nothing else to do. You are such hard working people, you should be commended for developing that land. Anything atypical is scary for people. We built a barndo in an area that didn’t have anything like that, but still in the country. People were unsure, but now there are several going up by us. Keep up your good work! God bless

Welcome to Warren County, MO. I grew up close by and had family in St. Peters. There are LOTS of people like that in and outside of MO, this is why I left. I wish the best for you both.
