10 Amazing Thrift Flips Using Items Headed for the Landfill!

Today, I will take on the challenge of upcycling items that no one else wanted from the Goodwill Outlet. As you know, the Goodwill Outlet is a treasure trove of items that didn't sell at regular Goodwill stores and are sold at a lower price by the pound. It's a great way to score some amazing deals, but it can also be overwhelming to see piles of seemingly useless things. That's where creativity and upcycling come in!
In this video, I'll show you some of my recent finds from the Goodwill Outlet and how I transformed them into unique creations. From broken ceramics, a lid with no pot, and a broken basket, to a rusty mailbox (and many more), I'll demonstrate how a little imagination and some basic DIY skills can turn trash into treasure.
You'll see how I cleaned, painted, and repaired some items, repurposed others for new uses, and combined different pieces to make something entirely new. Whether you're a seasoned upcycler or just getting started, this video will inspire you to see the potential in discarded items and to turn them into something beautiful and useful. Soaking the Angel vine in hot water with a wee bit of fabric softener for a short time helps it to be more pliable.

I have a large angel that is missing a wing as well. I think I'll take Sherry's idea of simply breaking off the other wing. I've kept it for years wondering what i could do with it. Glad to see that Sherry's idea turned out beautiful.

Good morning. You are the queen of creativity. Loved all of these - the butterfly branches in the candle-holder is so creative. Loved the transformation of the fairy candle holder and the darling little rabbit basket. The clock project was amazing! I love the idea of using the mailbox instead of a wreath for your front door. I will keep my eyes open for a mailbox the next time I go thrift shopping. Lastly, one of the simpler projects that I just loved was the salt container. You have given me so many ideas! I always look forward to your videos!

Wow, thank you! I am sorry that I didn’t see it, yet. I will watch this evening. My hubby and I went to St. Louis for four days for a college basketball tournament. It was there that I went to the Goodwill Outlet (and IKEA). It was so much fun, but four days away from home makes it hard to get a video done (which is why I am behind on watching all of my favorite channels)!

I did really like your clock shelf Sherry. The piece looks like it came that way, not as very disparate pieces you melded together. My favorite pieces this week were the wooden toy train pieces. The end results were charming! I always love it when you put some thread in the bird's mouth. It not only added to the cohesiveness of the piece, but added and extra touch of sweetness.

Hi sherry😊. This is my 1st time commenting. I have to say I’ve done a lot of DIY surfing and I mostly come back to you. We have very similar taste and it was nice to be validated since I’ve always been “granny chic” lol. Years ago one of my grandchildren looked around my house and declared “Mammy loves every stuff!” 😂 and then… you introduced me to dark academia… I didn’t know it had a name🥰 but been lovin it forever. The fairy candleholder is my favorite. You really changed it up gave it a new life. Your mini grandfather clock turned out really cute. You are creative to imagine these projects. I also enjoy the mailbox door decoration. Good job 😊
