They capitalized on the sloppy mistake by the Oilers D, and the Oilers played startled until the timeout. They just weren't giving those kind of opportunities all game, the Oilers were pretty well locked down until that turnover. If Vancouver played that desperate all game they would have allowed a lot more breakaways.

Oilers are the better team when they play at max potential. Nux couldn't match oiler intensity. Couldn't even get set up in the o zone.

The biggest problem was the Canucks PP. They had a 4 minute PP and did nothing. Then EDM gets a PP and the Canucks stand around and watch the oilers makes plays

They Oilers certainly did , they showed up and for the most part were ready to go. This has been a reoccurring scenario all season for the Canucks , not being ready at the start of games, and not playing a full 60 minutes . I hope they improve on this next year…

Oilers have more experience and more experienced forwards. Give Elias some more playoff games before dumping on him. It’s not like he has a track record of playoff failures like the leafs and their forwards.

As usual they waited until the eleventh hour to play desperate hockey. No sense of urgency with the exception of Connor Garland and it seems Miller wasn't feeling it with Pettersson on his line. Boeser's absence was the final nail in the coffin for the Canucks.

No, Mcleod literally gave the puck away and garland scored. Then, with that momentum scored again. If that give away didn’t happen Canucks would have remained lifeless like they were throughout the whole game.

@@njt12398 Agreed. It's more that Skinner lost the Oilers a game or two rather than Silovs stole a game or two. If Skinner posted a .905 the Oilers might be able to win this in 5.

@@yuan-pinglee6630 That's the supidest thing I've heard. Silovs had a sub .900 save percentage in the first two games of the series. Silovs struggled with long range shots, which most experienced NHL goalies will not. Jake Ottengier is a WAY better goalie than Silovs, so the Oilers are toast if they couldn't beat a rookie in a couple of games.

Canucks really shook up Edmonton after scoring 2 goals late in the 3rd. If they did that during the in the first and second this would’ve been a hard fought game. Future of the canucks looks great if we have demko and silovs in goal. Just need to sort of the rest of the lineup

I know this stings for Canucks fans, but I think this 'no effort' line is both insulting to the Oilers, and even more insulting to the Canucks. Canucks were amazing! What an amazing season they've had... From missing the playoffs to going 7 with an experienced and deadly Edmonton Oilers. The fact of the matter is that this series should have been 4-0 Edmonton, but the amazing fortitude, persistence, and _consistency_ of this team took it to 7. Once the Oilers found their game (game 6) we saw that the Oilers are [currently] a superior team, and they dominated the Canucks. And then there's Silov.... Holy sh*t, that guy is a star in the making. He was absolutely brilliant. So Canucks fans should be thrilled about how their team has performed. As an Oilers fan, I'm glad they won, but man do I respect the Canucks.

Van really only outplayed EDM one game this series. It shouldnt have gone 7. EP is an issue. Hughes might be dinged, but he was a non factor too. EDM just beat VAN and the combo of McDavid and Drai only got one point combined. The Van stars couldnt capatalize on that.

Look at all those stats they made. 8th team in history to come back from a 2 goal deficit with 2 minutes left to win it. A shutout win to go to round 2. Ungrateful fans for sure if you’re not impressed. They almost came back again with 2 quick goals and almost tied it. That’s how resilient they are. So they lost. Next year we’ll be ready!!! I kind of figured this would happen after boeser went down but I still cheered for our Canucks. It is a game of inches and could’ve been a different game If makheyev and pdg buried there chances. They played hard but it wasn’t enough. I expected game 5 Vancouver to show up but unfortunately that didn’t come about. We needed that extra piece that was missing or that extra push. Vancouver definitely needed that first goal early to get them going. Definitely a heartbreaker but I hope they learn from this and build there team around playoff performers. Will always be a Canucks fan and will never cheer for any other team because no one from any other team will ever cheer for us. Enjoy the rest of the playoffs 💚💙💚💙💚💙💚

Dude, you nailed it. The Canucks simply forgot that they had to play game 6 and potentially game 7 after that. And, i agree, the powerplay was pathetic. I think there will have to be some roster moves if the Canucks want to keep players like Zadorov and Lindholm. (Oilers fan living in Vancouver, so I watch the team a lot.) Silovs is the real deal, it seemed like he was the onky Canuck on the ice for the first 30 minutes or so.

mikeyev scores on that backhand woulda been a different game, scoring the first goal all-important in todays nhl playoffs. can sit back and wait. boring but effective. really good effort by canucks did all they could, tough loss boeser. Canucks should be better next yr and wont surprise anyone. passenger pete is gonna be a tough decision, guy looked lost and did'nt like being there, my take. my opinion. As an oiler fan vancouver matched up well against us, we match up well against dallas gonna be tough but i'll say oilers in 6. The best skating teams are gone in the west vegas,colorado and van. Dallas plays a heavy game but edmonton got a few advantages over them.

Canucks are best in 2 areas: choking and giving us false hopes. I told my friends that they'd pulled to 3-2 and lost when they were still down 3-0 while pushing in the 3rd, and that was what happened. Did the team not review the franchise's past game 7s to know what to or not to do? Are the efforts in games 6 and 7 what the passionate fans deserve? This is infuriating; wasted my 6 hours over the long weekend watching the Canucks flop.

Too bad Vancouver absolutely sucked tonight! That game was absolutely atrocious! Way too little too late to try to comeback after getting killed for 2 1/2 periods. I cannot believe how bad Rick Tocchet did not have the Canucks ready to kill Edmonton in their own rink tonight. He should be fired! I am not rooting for Edmonton whatsoever & hope Dallas destroys them in the Western Conference Finals! 😤😤😤

After 15 shots...Skinner let in 2 goals on 2 shots. The Canucks could have won this game easily..Oilers are going to have a terrible time with the Stars. The Canucks have better goaltending and defense..would have had a better chance against the Stars...IMO

If the Oilers keep defending like lions it gives them a better chance than you give them credit for. That being said yes, Skinner is a liability. Pickard has been better and that's just a fact. At the end of the day I actually agree, I think Dallas will win too lol

Oilers conpletely shut down the Canucks Powerplay and on 5 on 5 for long periods of time...Still telling yourself you have a better Defence and Depth?

They literally have been shut down for 2 straight games. A 5 min spurt away in game 1 from already golfing. Don't get too big for your boots big man

People need to acknowledge that the Canucks were missing Demko. Silovs played great but the team would have been more aggressive if Demko was healthy. They really missed Brock tonight but his health is more important. This team exceeded all expectations so let's be proud fans and stop being negative.

Canucks fans should be proud of their team and how far they got. That being said, I’m quite happy to see legorocks butthurt about losing after all his trashing of the oilers
