A video to show how to manipulate a exponential decay equation. This time specifically a capacitor discharge circuit, but all the algebra here could apply to nuclear decay or any other exponential decay.
Also shown is how to fit the equation to a y = mx + c model (equation for a straight line) to use the gradient of a straight line as your graphical average.

Ok so quick question, if i have a graph of current against time, including both charging and discharging, and then i try to calculate the capacitance using c=Q/V, why would i take area uder the graph to find the charge, why cant i just take the max current and multipy it by the time at which max current is achieved? I sound hectic here, if im not making sense can you please have a look at edexcel ial june 2016 unit 4 question 17b(i). Think about the graph line representing how the current changed over that time. So using the max current give you an over estimation of the total charge!

I've got a good few videos on capacitors luckily. And there's loads more here on KZfaq. At the end of the day it's just another exponential decay and so once you know how to work with them you'll be ok. 🦍😄
