Case 1. If TS is greater than TD, RC=MCS+MCD-TS+TD
Case2. If TS is less than or = TD, RC= MCS+ MCD
Where,
TS= Total Supply
TD= Total Demand
RC= Reservoir Capacity
MCS= Max. cum. surplus
MCD= Max. cum. deficit
The water demand of a town is 2160 m3/day. The water demand is to be met from the river flowing under gravity to the reservoir. The water is supplied to the consumers from the reservoir by continuous system. Calculate the capacity of balancing reservoir for the consumption pattern as shown in table below:
