@@thenegromancer4695 be as it may one thing follows the other sadly, unless some good studio /company with zero fucks to give goes in charge of a DS game(which I doubt capcom will let it go that esaily) is better to leave relics of the past where they have been, look at what happened to vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2 (I know this isn't a Japanese game but is a good example of what is going on with certain types in the gaming industry, also like your name 😁).

Darkstalkers as a franchise has always shined with wild animation among some of the best for the system Capcom used for it in arcades. Plus such a wild roster of characters to boot!

I still play Vampire Savior all the time!! I love the Darkstalkers series so much. I wish they resurrected this series and kept it sprite based.

The Saturn port for Night Warriors was so amazing. I am glad it launched in the West, unlike many other Capcom 2D Saturn games :(

I always loved how fancy and flashy the Darkstalkers series are. And really appreciate that they all have a specific victory quote for mirror fights in the 2nd episode

Some character treat there mirror match as some upstart of there race tried to beat them like Demitri thinking another vampire tried to usurp him and Jon calling the other werewolf a puppy that needs to go back to his pack same with Phobos treating the other one as a defective unit

I'll never forget the first time I saw this game at a pizza joint in California, I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain it was back before SNES was even a thing. I just remember thinking how Amazing the entire game looked and how much more animated the characters seemed to be compared to pretty much every other arcade game let alone fighting game. We were usually kinda broke so I never really got to play it as much as I would've liked, basically I would just stand there watching the attract screen while still getting a little pumped up even though I knew I wasn't gonna be playing and the content would just be repeating shortly. The supers and specials are Awesome, the famous monster related designs are all great and even the more original looking fighters are some of the best ever. 😄👍

SNES came out in ‘91 in America I think. Darkstalkers came out in ‘94.

DS created that idea in first place. It also created personal base mechanics, like one char has a common dash, another one teleports, another one flies, another one floats, another one hops... It created the base used and expanded by games like GG. It also created chain/free normal combos, ex moves and otg attacks (a special attack with a particular input, not just hitting anyone like in Marvel).

My favorite fighting game ever, everthing is so nostalgic, the voice actors, even the "get ready, fight" guy. It would be amazing having a new game with Guilty Gear graphics, but if Capcom eventually do it someday it's probably look bland like SF4 and 5.

@@zuzukyd I know what you mean, the terminology can be really confusing. Apparently there are Enhanced Specials AND Extra Specials which is new to me. It's funny because they both look the same and cost meter when activated, not sure why. That's why I wanted to double check with you since there might have been some that was left out. Thanks for pointing it out for me

@@migzfuentes That's not a super, it's an "ex" move. I mean "ex" in the SF terminology just to make it clear for a person unfamiliar with DS. The series uses a different set of terms to mean "ex" and "super".

For last 16 years ago After Donovan Baine's Sad Ending then This is Only One New Character called Dee the True Pure Evil is create by Capcom Games Maker from Vampire Darkstalkers Collection is only True Japan on Playstation 2. Antia is a Psycho Witch is not Playable Character in Darkstalkers but Anita the Little Psycho Witch with Her Mini Sword is a New Playable Character until Marvel Super Heroes the Arcade Version and Marvel vs Capcom Origins is created by Capcom the Video Games Maker is True!

DS1-2 (and MSH+XvSF) drained all of Capcom's creative energy, so almost nothing was left to give to SF. These games make SF games (except SF3) look like they were made much earlier... Because everything looks so much sophisticated and polished, the ideas of gameplay style, presentation, attention to details, etc. And that was just 95.

fighting game then : creative, fun, all chara have same potential but with different combo, only skilled player got to leaderboard fighting game now : stronger the chara, more money to spend on them and their equipment. skill alone not enough to got you places on leaderboard without some cash

It's 2023, and I am MAD beyond words at crapcom for STILL neglecting Vampire: The Night Warriors franchise in favor for the overrated Street Fighters series for literally over a decade now... The Vampire series has WAY more interesting characters than that of Street Fighters, imho. With literally each cryptid fighter having a UNIQUE fighting style, superpower, AND world-building lore compared to that of Sh*t Fighters. 🙄 Literally ANY Vampire fighter would WRECK anyone on the SF roster with their cryptid superpowers. Like... what's not to love about being able to play as a mythological creature from folklore with cool-a** powers? 😑 Vampire: The Night Warriors has always struck me as a more interesting fighting game series than what we currently have now. And it's horrifyingly underrated...
