Hate to burst the bubble but...there is a secret final boss at the end. And according to a GameFAQ: "You need 3,200,000 points, and you have to get 1,000 coins or 6 upgrades." After that you got 2 options to either fight the Master Program or destroy the disk (the latter lead to the normal ending). So....up for the challenge?

i feel that this game could have easily been a 90s cartoon and/or taken place in the same world as captain commando.

How have I never heard of this game? I grew up in the arcades and thought I played every beat em up under the sun. And it’s Capcom no less.

So, this game was originally conceived to be a racing game instead of a beat 'em up. That auto-scrolling portion on the third level and the Cyber Samurai midboss are basically what remained of this original concept.

There's something about the fact that Dave's golden two-headed robocobra throne has those random candles on it that just screams Warhammer 40k to me

You've actually missed the last boss but I forget how you unlock it as I gotten it by luck but yeah this is a really dope beat'em up and I love how it has the customization of modern beat'em ups & it would be nice if this gotten a sequel much like with Captain Commando

When I picked up the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle when it launched in 2018, I didn't know what to expect with some of the games included in that collection, which included 'Battle Circuit' & 'Armoured Warriors' (the latter would eventually create the spin-off fighting game 'Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness'). It's a great time, especially when you can play as large, sentient, pink ostrich with an eye patch and jewel necklace (Pinky) who is always accompanied by her owner, a young girl (Pola Abdul), and I hope people will be able to give this collection a shot to play this. It usually goes on sale on Steam for 10-20 bucks.

I hear you with that dancing background story, Matt. Every time I'm convinced to dance, someone asks if I need medical attention.

If someone would told me Dr Saturn and his slime sidekick aren't a reference to Dastardly & Mutley, I straight up would call them a disgusting liar to their face.

How often I wonder with so many dormant IPs Capcom has in their archive, they have yet to remake any of their classic arcade games like Final Fight or Battle Circuit. But somebody over at Capcom decided it was a better idea to remake Ghosts n' Goblins for the 11th time😮‍💨

The story with this IP is that it was originally intended to be an "action racing game," but ended up wallowing around in development hell, switching genres a few times before ending up as a beat-em-up. So that's why it's not Captain Commando 2. As for which artists were involved, Akiman has said that Eri Nakamura, one of their more prolific sprite artists, was the lead on in this project.

The entire reason I found out about this game back in the day was due to a Game Informer video where they played with Mr. Green. I had to know more lmao. We need more playable plant monsters.

Man, Cyberblue is so cool. If I ever did a cosplay, it would be as him. His throw and uppercut are so dang satisfying.

The Beat em Up bundle does have a digital art book if you’d like looking at some designs more closely. Anyway this is the energy and aesthetic I’d like to see in more beat’ em ups. Most of the roster stands out too and I’d like them to appear in more stuff.

It seems like the characters might get their own little endings as well, which is always fun.

First thought on special moves costing health points is make that health a portion that slowly refills unless hit by an enemy

There is a final-final boss. Thought it's just for Cyber Blue (might be the points too), but dunno. You get the option to fight the master program at the end which is just Genie grom Aladdin.

In a very real way this is like Smiling Friends: The Video Game, 25 years before Smiling Friends existed.

I got the beat em up collection knowing only Final Fight, and Battle Circuit ended up being my favorite!

Battle Circuit really feels like Capcom pulled together a bunch of weird stuff they cut from other games through the 90s and just stuffed it all in one last completely bonkers game.

I think the lizard guys are modeled after a species of lizard that can run on water.

I have this game for my Switch! My favorite characters to play as are the cat girl and the pink ostrich.

Is that Harry character a nod to Monkey Island's Stan S. Stanman? It has the sleazy look, stands with its index pointing up and moves its hands like crazy when talking.

I like drawing connections between Capcom games. I'm betting Dr. Saturn's green glob thing is the future model/decedent of Delta Red's George Ginzu's clear blob thing.

People will say Pluto doesn't look like a One Piece character, but he does look a lot like Edward Weevil and Queen.

Definitely one of my favorites but wish capcom would have released this with Captain commando as a two pack. Maybe they didn't release it in the US much due to a lot of the weird versions and partial nudity. Heck a third Captain Commando like would have been neat, it's sad they didn't return to the formula. This is a good example for indies on how to make a good beat em up, it's a solid formula here.

those green short robot enemies look like the ones from mega man 8 and a lot of this action, animation and style in this game is really similar to punisher.
