Ngl, for all of those who are missing mp games, I jumped back into Fortnite a month ago after about 3+ years of being off. The game is fun. Been only playing No-build BR and the team rumble. The gunplay is good and fair. No matchmaking issues, the game is consistently smooth, but registration is on point, no gimmicky or unfair weapons, destruction is good. It isn’t a “mature” game, but it does offer everything that I’m looking for. I can hop in for 20 minutes if I want without ever feeling like I’m behind or unable to compete. I’ve always been bad at building, but these kids can’t stop me heads up with just guns.

Another great podcast as usual. Too many things to quote. Jack always kills me with the "huh?". BG with the sarcasm so subtle you can't tell what he's really saying 😂 I dig it. Salute

I finally understand the apprehension Jack, Alex, Blandrew and Bond have against live service games. The biggest problem with multiplayer games now, especially live service titles, is that newer ones have to fight with already established live service titles for time while trying to have their own respective draw. There's too many of them now. The worst kind of live service game to make now is a niche but also derivative one. Force Gaming made an excellent video about live service games and it seems like developing a live service title now, even if it's enjoyable, is too risky develop and maintain. I feel like PlayStation may need to scale back on their GAAS plans and reduce their investments. If not, they may need at least three of those games to be unique, accessible, and profitable. Some of the games being shuttered weren't necessarily bad or unknown games either. Seems like the costs and demand in the gaming industry ballooned so much to be unreachable and unsustainable and it doesn't help with how the different economic systems are.

I wish there was a second opinion in the podcast on the Finals beta. I was able to play a couple of matches and really enjoyed it and so did my friends that were able to play it. I've also been seeing very positive vibes across the youtube community about it. BG is right though about the trailer, but its supposed to sell the game so thats expected. Props to BG for at least trying it though, just wish we could hear more than just his opinion especially since it seems like some people were reacting as if they will just take his word for it.

To be clear, Sony just wants to have the Activision deal rejected for two specific reasons. 1. Because it would have a direct negative impact on Sony, long term and short term. 2. The deal would reduce competition in the gaming marketplace (which is why Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have been vocal about it). Although Sony has been outperforming Microsoft, the behavior in itself is intended for Microsoft to reduce competition and will have a direct impact of harming the entire gaming industry. We all know how many fewer games have been released by developers over the past ten years. Moves like this would continue to make that situation worse. Less games and increasing costs to the consumer. Microsoft has already been penalized in recent years for acquiring businesses, extracting resources and then shelving ideas that would have resulted in advancements in other industries. The FTC agrees that this deal should be looked into for Microsoft’s ENTIRE organizational practices, and not just solely looking at this deal alone.

I have something to say about piracy, honestly, most people are just poor, and im not about to reprehend them for that, in my country (Argentina) the average salary is 180U$D per month, how do you expect people to just pay 50, 60, 70$ out of nowhere? Personally, i dont have any piracy in my computer except for the last of us tv series which i pay for in my tv provider (Telecentro) but i dont like watching content on my tv, i prefer using my desktop computer for everything. I get bond calling people losers if he's only talking about his fellow countrymen, if you're underclass in the U.S , making 24.000U$D per year, well its a lot tougher to justify not putting 200-300U$D down for just the few new releases that are worth it, but people in Russia make 400U$D per month, people in Belarus make 200U$D per month, people in Romania make 650$ per month. I simply won't accept that gaming is meant to be an exclusive luxury for first worlders, and i may be biased here because im a third worlder i know, but it's video games, its not high art (and it'll never be) and its not a tradition bound to social class. When i was a kid in highschool i used to pirate and a bunch of times i'd had to format my pc and reinstall windows because those torrents were full of malwares, i dont like piracy for this, but only for this, i dont care about the status signal and generally i dont care about how it affects these corporations, im not gonna judge you if you pirate but i wish you didn't because you're probably getting your pc infected with things you have no clue of. Also the abandonware or stupidware is a legitimate reason to go down the pirate road, i bought GTA 4 complete edition on steam in 2013, and over the years, i've seen and felt the game getting worse, to the point where i almost always needed to have 2 separate installs, one for steam for multiplayer (which i rarely played) and one pirate for mods and actual proper optimization, these days i dont even download the pirated version because those torrents have been taken down so many times that each time you download it its a brand new one, and its impossible to know what it conceals, so i have been playing the steam version and i have been enjoying, but i know its a cope, deep down i miss playing gta 4 with those photorealistic mods that look like absolute insanity, game from 2008 looks perfectly competent against 2023 games. Other games have been completly deleted in their original forms, metro 2033 original no longer exists in any digital store, it's been replaced by that GARBAGE, atrocious, blasphemy Redux relaunch, i bought 2033 original and also the redux, take it from me, if you cant buy the original version on physical format from ebay or something, just pirate it, dont play redux.
