The idea that $6 for a single costume is considered even remotely reasonable is insane to me. The fact that it’s not part of the $50 supposed “ultimate” pass is already egregious on its own. But to then charge a 10th of a $60 game for a single outfit is beyond crazy. People will stay cynical and say “vote with your wallet” doesn’t work. But do it. If this bothers you even remotely as much as it does me, don’t buy it. Even if you really want that new DJ fit, don’t buy it. Wait for that bundle. Wait for that “sale”.

Costumes should be free, unlockable by playing the game. Buying dlc characters, their costumes are added free as well. Only acceptable dlc for fighting games imo is season pass with characters and stages. Fuck paying for costumes and colors. The largest indicator for costumes and colors to be free is the modding community. They spit out decent costumes in like a week for free. And the kicker is many of the costumes are made by people creating them in their free time after working full-time jobs and all. No way a costume should be $6/ea.

This game has the opposite problem of Street Fighter V where that game had absolutely no content and Capcom slowly had to doll out the essentials for any big budget fighting game overtime until it got to a place where it was enjoyable, though imo not as well realized as a game like Street Fighter IV, and the in-game economy also felt additionally frustrating as a result because it masks the lack of content on offer initially. SF6 has literally everything I need from day one and is probably one of the most comprehensive fighting games I've played from Capcom in a long ass time, and it seems like they're unfortunately aware of that because practices like this almost feel like they're taking advantage of all that goodwill they got from the launch period to do stuff like this. It's pretty frustrating

The 300 FC thing is there to make you buy more. If the amount of FC you can buy doesn't line up with the cost of DLC purchases, you should always be left with some FC in your account. So the next time you see something you want to get and have to add FC into your account, it will feel like you've already bought in and are already closer to the required price when you see that leftover FC from the last time. @@lightup6751 I have to disagree, partly. Sf6 is without a doubt a very innovative fighting game, but what I was referring to here was capcom in general and their awful way to monetize their products. We're not only just talking about the shitty microtransaction system in sf6; their greed is pretty well known at this point and they they have taken several opportunities to show it off. However, regarding sf6 in particular, I gotta say man, as much as I like this game (because I do), I'm sorry but it's definitely not amongst the best fighting games out there: it introduces a bunch of pretty interesting mechanics, but... yeah... have to disagree on that.
@lightup67517 ай бұрын
@@bedeuhdb27y9 I also respectfully disagree. I just think sometimes people get way to caught up in their own hate against a company or brand. Yes, Capcom had its rough patches with MVCI and esp SFV. But they also have been on a redemption arc and I find that undeniable as it’s backed by facts. The RE 2,3,4 remakes, RE8, DMC5, Monster Hunter World and Rise. There was nothing but bangers the past 5-6 years. You said Capcom “never” fails to disappoint. No offense. But that is just hating for the sake of hating. You don’t have to love any company including Capcom. I respect your opinion. But come on, dude. You know that is an unfair exaggeration and as if you don’t want to accept the change the company went through. Like a stigma or a stereotype. But the truth is that things did change. SF6 as their first fighting game since their redemption pretty much confirmed their change. A change that’s been happening for over half a decade now. Your comment would make sense 5 years ago but not now after the great releases we had. SFV and SF6 microtransactions are a whole different ballpark as well after all.

@@ValorDucky I know where you coming from but I don’t see it that way. Heck, in the past when we played SF2 and SF3 the game was bare bones. Heck, video games in the 90s were not rarely $90-100, which translates to much more than that today. Just to put things into perspective, SF2 on release was $70 on release in 92. Just the base game, an arcade mode that gives you a 30s cutscene and no online. People loved it. I’m sure you know there was a whole pandemic of scummy microtransactions, pay to win and incredibly unfair systems installed in competitive games in the past decade. If I think about the mtx and microtransactions in SF6 now I think Capcom redeemed themselves from SFV. They found a sweet spot. Cosmetics are purely cosmetics. Visuals. They don’t improve your experience in any meaningful way. SF6 has great gameplay, graphics, presentation and tons of content. It is brimful and arguably the most complete game in the entire franchise. It has a great, full roster and isn’t hiding half the game behind paywalls. Skins back then were unlockable, true. But they weren’t even skins. They were colors. palette swaps. Now we got full on skins that transform a character into sth completely different and give a fresh, new style. Especially looking amazing on the first SF on RE engine. $6 per transforming skin that has zero affect on the game, for your favorite characters, sounds reasonable to me. It’s true that there is greedy devs out there milking their player base. But it is equally true and undeniable that there is also players that are similarly greedy and want everything exclusive and extra for free. There is both radicals and Capcom in my opinion found the sweet spot with SF6. Some people compare games to the past, but the past SF and fighters were more naked and barebone than SFV and sold for a full price. Things are pretty good now.
