When Capcut exported my 1 hour edited video to 1080p h.264 in 20 mins, compared to Davinci Resolve taking 2.5 hours on my laptop, I switched.

Capcut is the king editor for social medias , seriously ! you don't need anything more advanced .

great to see this I stumbled upon it by accident - not heard of capcut but despite using premiere and after effects for years, the fiddly keyframes and different approaches in premiere and after effects is at odds with a smooth workflow - just trying capcut as already it looks more like the combined tool that could be a great fit for my mixed work on web and social projects

The absence of a source monitor makes Premiere the clear winner for me. The examples you gave me are effects I won't need. I don't want a small preview for when I am selecting which exact frame I want to go in and out, which in Premiere, makes work easier for me. I can use capcut for small projects or I will edit first in Premiere and if I need those effects, then I'll export and do in CapCut.

That is really interesting. As a professional editor for 24 years I'm really surprised. CapCut could even be great for a quick rough-cut or assembly on professional productions. The only thing I'd say still needed for that is XML, EDL, AAF, OMF or other cross-platform export options for mastering and grading, audio mixing etc. on the pro systems. Do you think there's a chance that's coming? Lumafusion which is also a mobile device-based editor does now support XML export, so it should be possible if there's the will to do it. Collaboration features could absolutely put CapCut at another level.

I think one of the best feature with CapCut is that you don't need the fastest computer in the world to run it. I used to run it on a ultra light Galaxy Book Pro without any lag when playing 4K clips. On the same laptop, with the same 4K clips, Davinci Resolve was more or less unusable.

The one thing that I hope capcut implements, would be better color grading tools, capcut is so much more intuitive then premiere or resolve, but I can't give up the astonishing color grading tools in resolve for bare bones tools in capcut😢

Ive been using premiere over 16yrs now, And been using capcut for a year and a half. And i must say capcut is a definite win.

Great channel .. ! I just downloaded CapCut and can't figure out how to view the Info of my clips.. P Pro it's super easy to view the clips frame rate and the resolution... Sometimes I shoot a bunch of mixed footage with different frame rates and it's nice to know at a click what the frame rate is...

Jeez. Most of this is like a slam dunk on my sweet prpro. Never thought I would look another editing program with such interest.

I have seen lots of creators doing this with Screen recording and Background videos. experts say its on premier pro. Can we do that in Capcut? Please show us.. or I will keep plucking few more..

I agree with most of those, however, when you went to CapCuts' text it honestly reminded me of MS Word 1990. Sure, it at least has formatted options, but none I would use. Now animating that text is another thing. MOGRTS are nice but I agree they're not efficient at all.

Thank you for this video, Trevor. As a newbie, Premiere Pro is a negative for a couple of reasons - one, ease of use but also the pricing. I've never been crazy for the subscription model. Yes, CapCut does have a sub model, but the pricing is a bit more reasonable for me.

Just out of curiosity, why not bring a clip into the timeline, and then trim it up? Just seems like extra work to trim the clip before the timeline, as you will very likely continue to trim and adjust on the timeline.

what are the control features in adobe that's actually better than CapCut...? because everything people have been doing on adobe, i've been seeing people do on CapCut now...

Great comparison. Capcut makes editing easier and more user friendly allowing creatives to bring their ideas to fruition without the steep learning curve of most video editors.

As someone who uses Adobe Products there is no competition just convenience with Capcut. Dynamics Link is a must have for me. Capcut is for the average jo who doesn't know to much about graphics and animation.

I recently built a desktop PC for basic video editing and use the free version of Capcut. I like that i can edit between my PC and my phone when I'm on the go.

I think a combination of these two softwares can make a pretty good workflow.

I tried capcut for their remove background feature which is not so good for doing with 3 front subjects so didn't go any further and drop it ... Been using shotcut for several years and it does the job for me, Premiere is too fat

Awesome video man. I used capcut recently when my daughter wanted to start editing and was blown away with the ease of it. She also picked it up easily (as opposed to when she tried Premiere). - And so true about the premiere effects! ha!. Guess that's what happens when there's not much competition. One thing I loved about capcut was that the key frames are smoothed by default, saves so much time and tweaking. You might be interested to know that Premier now has the same Sound Enhance capabilities (although in beta). - I did a vid on it. It's as incredible as capcut's. It's so crazy how that level of clean up possible so easily! I think overall we'll see Premier start to catch up as capcut have raised the bar and shown how easily things can be done. Premiere have been caught snoozing.

The issue with capcut is not being able to customize so much. In premiere, you have your whole keyframe window where you can effortlessly move the keyframes, add time interpolation for smoother animation, etc. Same with effects, not near as many animation options with pen drawn masks.

Hi, Does anyone know... Whenever my Capcut video has finished exporting, the menu option to share to Tiktok, KZfaq etc pops up and it begins encoding a second time. I click cancel and it asks me if I want to delete the file, to which I click yes. I never want to upload to Tiktok or YT, so how do I turn off this 2nd irritating menu option? Thanks in advance.

I’m torn. I’m not a pro but have been editing for 6 years. I’m very comfortable in premiere despite not using its full capabilities. Over the years I’ve tried quite a few editors hoping to find something comparable with premiere for cheaper. I’m impressed with cap cut especially with the amount of transitions, effects etc that can be done with ease. The one thing that may be a dealbreaker though is the timeline not moving with playback as I’m an audio editor if you know what I mean. I think really using both is most ideal. Premiere for initial cut and cc for bells and whistles. I will say though I have some footage with a rustle on the mic that’s unusable in premiere. My heart sank thinking I have to refilm but one button in cc and the rustle is inaudible!

I am using DaVinci Resolve, I find this to be great software. Capcut provided convenient effects, while Davinci helped me get movies with beautiful colors. Premiere is still good software, but its features are pretty average, not standing out from other software if it's not combined with Audition and After Effect

Is there a feature in capcut where you can create multi cam edits similar to premiere and da Vinci resolves multi cam edit features?

i'm still an amateur in using both. capcut is definitely much easier to use. but the only reason why people still uses premiere pro is because it's (in my country) still the standard video editor for the tv and movie industries. so, it's a must for us here to know how to use premiere pro (i tried da vinci but i easily got confused).

Ehen adding animation, effects, transition, the speed changes automatically, is therr anyway to fix that? I want the default speed to stay the same after the animation, effect runs through, but it seems to affect the overall speed of the video seconds after it run through

uma coisa que eu acho que o premiere peca é ter o premiere e o after effects sepados, os dois softwares podiam ser um só igual ao davince resolve, a adobe tem o costume de criar algumas ferramentas e tornar um software isolado ao inves de adicionar os recursos no software já existente enquanto o capcut já tem tudo dentro dele mesmo sem a necessidade de criar outro software para complementa-lo

What software are you using that allows you to switch between scenes of you teaching and the actual screen. Also is there a way to organize the transitions in CapCut? They are so unorganized!!

I have used both for some time now, the only issue I have with Capcut is the overall control of everything, from effects, audio, transitions Premiere pro offers u more control but seriously, their built in transitions, effects, animation all suck and they need to really redesign that whole thing including their built it templates that are practically unusable. But like you said they want you to use AE and even then it's almost as tedious as using Premiere pro sometimes with all the extra steps u need to do certain things but I guess it's the control I'm talking about takes up more time to get it to do something more custom and specific. Overall Capcut is user friendly have even tried editing 4k footage works smoothly whilst Pr Pro is basically unusable u can barely scrub through a clip unless you create proxies or render the clip even after rendering it lags so much of course ur processor matters sometimes but why do u not experience all these processor issues on Capcut, it's just smooth and the color grading templates are beautiful too. QUICK QUESTION, is there a way to export a Pr. Pro Project file to work on Capcup, I think that would be the best way as you could do all the things relating to control on Premiere Pro and the rest of the staff on Capcup

I can't lie. I'm that "I know the REAL program (Premiere) but watching this I'm really feeling like a fool now. I'm always watching other people's videos and thinking I'm getting way behind when it comes to effects and making the videos sexy. I naturally thought I need to dive heavily into After Effects (one option) but then I see Capcut and I'm floored. Add to that the exorbitant price of the Adobe Suite and the lack of real (and seamless) features Adobe offers and the choice seems ridiculously obvious. While I still want to maintain control over the creativity of the edit and not let AI completely take the wheel (that's cheating) Capcut seems to be the much better option and to be honest, my clients really don't care what it's done in. That just want it to be sexy as hell. And it will be. Thanks for sobering me up.

By this set of logic iMovie is the one editing program to rule them all 😅 For basic editing CapCut it fine… but you’ll hit your head on the ceiling quickly if you want to keep improving your visual effects and audio mixing. Premiere sucks in its own ways (that’s why I switched to DaVinci after a decade on premiere) … but it’s wayyyy ahead of CapCut in many ways especially when considering the sheer quantity of third party assets that’s can be plugged into it.
