I liked Gears Tactics too, but yes after a few hours, the shallowness showed.

What you find bad about gameplay

@@slimpyslimpy The character progresion is shallow, lacks some QoL other games in the genre have, no management or secondary systems, the dialogue is exceedingly cringe, all the characters are diversity tokens with 0 personality, the story is uninteresting, it doesn't seem to have any replayability (can't know for sure since I'm not planing on finishing the game) Like I said, the only thing decent is the combat but it's nothing special and doesn't make up for the rest of the downsides.

@@slimpyslimpy It has no chance of death and specific named characters who can't be customised. To me that are the best points of X-COM 2, making your own characters who might die during missions.

fair point..xcom is a bigger game in that it has more...but gameplay wise capes is really good imho.

@@slimpyslimpy Released May 2022 for PC, just recently for consoles. Had two DLCs on PC in between, first not well received, second one (July 2023) very well received.

@@cookie-monster7468 Probably not the consensus, but it's my verdict. It did get similar Metacritic scores...I'd say if you are a WH40K fan and a fan of turn based tactics games, it's a no brainer. Especially on sale like it is now as part of Skulls 2024.

"The heroes don’t really look or feel like super heroes. So it defeats the purpose of buying a super hero strategy game." This is the main thing for me before even getting to the other elements of the game. Every character just kind of looks generic...or just "guy with powers" rather than superhero if that makes sense. So there is nothing that really stands out visually and from what people are saying the gameplay is alright, but just seems kind of not worth picking up to me.
