Capoeira is a very agressive martial arts style. The amount of power and speed generated from the spinning is ridiculous. People make fun of it because it originated from dancing. But people forget how strong dancers are. Dancing builds a strong core look at professional dancers bodies they are toned everywhere. People make fun of Male ballet dancers but I've seen male ballet dancers squat ridiculous weights on their tip toes. Core strength is just as important as arm strength look at make gymnastics they are toned head to toe. Capoeira is the same it doesn't just focus on kicks and punches but making the whole body a weapon. The power generated in those spin kicks is deadly
@da33984 жыл бұрын
@Paris Weeb I totally agree. And also i dislike the fact that many people consider capoiera as an ineffective martial art. From my experience if you know how and when to use capoiera in a kickboxing/Muay Thai or MMA match it can become a really dangerous weapon in your arsenal when opponents less expected it to happen, but you also shouldnt always abuse it beacuse then the techniques would become less effective.

@@ianjbanks3528 that's true of any martial art that has spinning kicks? I actually think their kicks are easier to read than say spin-kicks from Tae Kwon Do because they touch the ground to complete the spin so you can read it in the shift of their chest. Some of their combo kicks are crazy fast which makes it hard to block. But not because it's unpredictable, rather because the time between the two kicks are too soon for you to react even though your eyes can see they're still spinning (thus another kick is coming.)

@gilbertbermudez14524 жыл бұрын
Actually, it's pretty effective. And kicks from capoeira are far stronger than most conventional(or mainstream) martial art discipline because of how they execute them.
@aarni48194 жыл бұрын
Gilbert Bermudez The problem with capoeria is that it takes a LOT of stamina and can be really risky if the opponent is prepared for it. I’m not saying that it’s not effective at all. It can catch the opponent off guard and destroy them. But there is a reason why most mma fighters dont use it a lot.
@matis1884 жыл бұрын
I would say it is great addition to MMA as sort of a special move. Would be really hard to win a fight doing only capoeira. Same goes for Judo. Great addition to boxing/kickboxing based martial arts which form the core. Then you can go for grapple or surprise kick from rotation based on situation.

Capoeira is pretty much like kung fu's drunken fist, yes it can be effective but only because it's super impredictable, if the other fighter actually knows how to defend himself and has any type of knowledge on what to do he wins easy, plus to get to a high level you need to spend time that you could invest into learning muay thai, jiu jitsu, krav maga... more effective and complete fight style. Still capoeira is always cool to watch and a piece of brazilean culture wich i respect a lot.

You think that every jumping kick or handstand kick is capoeira ?
@isaiescamilla5504 жыл бұрын
Most are. And all of these can be found in Capoeira. Not every but most flashy kicks are either Taekwondo or Capoeira. And even then, the really flashy and strange ones are usually Capoeira

@Messages In a bottle Its really hard to counter a capoirea user who uses spinning kicks to its fullest, they literally pull a cool kick when you least expect it. But from what I've learned from Tang Soo Doo, a way to counter spinning kicks are closing up to them to the point where you can stop them before they land the attack or prevent them from attacking in the first place.

@@neththeobnoxioussponge8929 Exactly. If you study the motion of the body, you can counter by attacking before the spinning flying kick can even happen. Just watch the feet. This sounds practical but if you are caught off guard then you are basically f**ked.

For jumping kick, not all of them. But for handstand kicks, almost every is capoeira

Literally all of these were indeed capoeira moves. The spinning of the body is a definite give away. Capoeira kicks are very powerful, it's not as easy as it looks by torquing the body and rotating it that fast you build up a lot of power. It's like a spinning backfist though there is no draw back the spinning is what gives it it's power it's like a whip
