i just came back from cappadocia! It's a magical place~ I'd love to go back again~

I love Rick & watch him religiously! My co-workers often talk with one another sharing our 'travel bucket lists'.When I showed them this video they were so fascinated with the landscape that I'm sure this was added to their list. THANKS RICK!!

I visited the area in March. I also went on fantastic the balloon ride. The experience is truly out of this world.

Amazing place

We loved our Cappadocia hot air balloon with 18 other tourists in our basket only a few months ago in November 2022, the best ever ride in a balloon anywhere in the world and we had done some already.

Wow! This is definitely Europe's best kept secret. Gorgeous scenery, like the Grand Canyon, but with greenery. And to see it in a balloon makes it a stupendous adventure.

Going there with my family soon!! Can't wait for it!!! :)

These balloon rides are amazing but I would really recommend going during the shoulder seasons because there are no regulations on the number of balloons in an area at a time and the pilots have little control (up or down but not direction-wise). Crashes happen with some frequency and people have died. You'd think that would spur the government to enact some safeguards, but no. I went the first time during a September visit to the area and it was great. The second time was right in the high season, in July, and our basket crashed into another company's truck on landing because the previous company hadn't yet fully cleared the area. It's just entirely too crowded. No one got hurt fortunately but with a couple inches difference here or there it could have gone really badly. Plus there's a brace position for landing but nothing really to hold on to. This was a couple years ago so I can only assume it's worse now. I'd recommend paying the extra 50% or so on top of the cheapest rates to be in a basket with as few people as possible. If you're in an accident, you're probably slightly less likely to get crushed to death (some baskets can have 24 people in them), plus you can go higher.

I will be there this October. I hope I can ride the balloon. Do you know if we have to buy tickets in advance?

How safe is this? We are going in mid - late October and are thinking of doing it? Of course, a friend started sharing all the accident clips. Are they well insured?
