Unlike Zamasu, Captain Ginyu didn't need Dragon Balls to switch bodies with Goku.

Honestly the body change technique is one of my favorite techniques in the dragon ball franchise.

I NEVER realized Ginyu IS essentially immortal (biologically speaking) since whenever his current body is on the verge of death he can just switch bodies and get a younger body with a whole new lifetime to look forward too. I never thought about that until this vid (since most folks talk about if Ginyu did body swap on a fusion).

I think it’s understated how OP the ability is, to the point that one other person having access to a body change (Zamasu) became the foundation of an entire arc in super. I also think it would be interesting if the answer for it turned out to be that Ginyu started as an evil Yardrat who abused spirit control to create the technique.

Do fusion characters always have a more dominant side, like Vegito = more Vegeta, Gogeta = more Goku if so then maybe he takes over the more dominant side or maybe the move is broken if the fusion is too strong

As for the part about what would happen if ginyu were to switch bodies with a fusion and then the fusion defused, my guess is that Ginyu soul would be ripped in half and he would cease to exist, kind of like being destroyed by beerus or being deleted by Zeno. As for the two bodies of the fused warriors, the bodies themselves would just be dead. Meanwhile the fused warrior souls would be forever trapped together in ginyus body. That's just my head cannon.

I think Ginyu struggling to use Goku's body stems from how Goku gains his power, he uses strange techniques such as the Kaio ken and spirit bomb which has specific requirements to properly utilise whereas Tagoma is just brute strength without a complex technique boosting him

Why didn't Ginyu ever use this technique to steal Frieza's body???

here's my theory for the changing bodies with a fusion character question: ginyu would forever be stuck as gotenks, for example, but since ginyu's ki, consciousness, entire body is not composed of any fused beings and especially no time limit to his being, he would ultimately stay inside of gotenks body forever until he learned to control it or until he died of old age or even died in battle just a theory!!!

I've always wondered about how the body change would affect Launch. Imagine if Launch wasn't forgotten by Toriyama and she accompanied Gohan Krillin and Bulma to Namek (likely to resurect her beloved triclops). Instead of Bulma being taken over in that anime-only scene, Launch is targeted. What happens? Does he supplant both personalities, leaving behind the 2 Launches in another body? Who has bad allergies? Does Ginyu only replace one Launch ad then is subject to the allergy switch? If Launch sneezes during does it negate the ability? or, if she sneezes during does that result in a 3rd Launch personality coming about? Would she have purple hair? What happens to the other body if the technique fails? Does it die?

I really enjoyed the body change technique used in dragon Ball multiverse especially when you find out that Ginyu switched with king cold

The only way to make sense of Captain Ginyu being able to use Tagoma's body after mere seconds; is to say that Tagoma is of the same species that Ginyu's original body was from. So he already had a sense of knowing how to use the body.

I remember readin somewhere that when Ginyu changed bodies their voices stay the same in-universe. That may explain why Krillin and Gohan was blindsided at first

Tagomas body was hardened from being friezas training “partner”, being torn to shreds and then rejuvenating in the chamber for the next session. So it makes sense that ginyu had exceptional defense after changing with ginyu but his offensive abilities were overkill from the body change unless he had done extreme mental and spirit training while as a frog but the ress f saga in super didn’t say that. I’d have to watch it again but as a dragonball gag it’s still fun, ya know

With the Body Change on a Fused Character, I think a few different things could happen: 1. The move gets deflected back to Ginyu meaning it cannot affect fused beings 2. It works, but only swaps with one of the personalities (which may lead to the undoing of the fusion if Ginyu and the other personality don’t mix well enough) 3. It completely replaces the fused being’s personality (which is stuck in Ginyu forever (unless he swaps back)) and when (or if) the fused being unfuses, each unfused half has Ginyu’s personality, but not two complete copies, rather each has one half of it with it being random which gets what parts (a side affect to this could be that, if the Ginyu halves refuse and change back into his body, who knows if the halves of the fused being will return to their original bodies when they unfuse) 4. The move could be used to destroy fusions: Take Ginyu and Gogeta for example. Ginyu swaps with them, waits for the timer to run out, when the fusion ends, he’s in Goku’s body while Vegeta’s is essentially brain dead (has no personality to control it). Since there is no one to control Vegeta’s body, re-fusion is not possible and all Ginyu has to do is swap back to his body and from there Ginyu could win.

Can we get a blast deflection theory video, like when Nappa's arm was numb when he deflected angry Gohan's Masenko? or maybe a video on what happens to a person during a beam struggle?? Like what it takes to win and the toll it takes...

I believe Ginyu cannot switch with Gogeta or any fused character. I believe his technique is 1 soul for another and fused characters are 2 or more souls. Even though they are fused other characters were still able to detect more than 1 soul in that body. Dende detected Nails. Goku detected Kame. Piccolo detected multiple souls in the Universe 6 Namekeans. Ginyu might be able to force out either Goku or Vegeta's soul, but then it would be an internal battle between Ginyu's soul and the remaining soul for control of the fused body which may last for the entire fusion. That's my theory on that. Big fan of your work Geekdom. Love how you meticulously research your subject matters to give us factual information. Keep up the great work.

I think there is another thing that could potentially happen if the body change technique was used on a fused fighter; Ginyu's soul would end up stuck as said fusion and if the fusees, like Goten and Trunks (who would be unaffected), fused back, then Ginyu would return as the soul of their fusion. This, to me, makes a lot of sense since fusions are generally regarded as their own characters instead of simply a fusion of two other characters that have no identity of their own.

What I find interesting about Goku Black is that even though Zamasu used a different method then Ginyu, the results seems to have been the same. Zamasu seemed to have a hard time bringing out Goku's potential, at first. While he was still strong enough to overpower Trunks, he struggled in the first fight with present day Goku. After that fight, however, his body seemed to "remember," and he quickly became much more powerful. However, based on Vegeta's speech, in seems that he never fully mastered Goku's body

I actually like that they brought back Captain Ginyu in super. I wasn't crazy about the execution, but what are ya gonna do? I think they had an idea that they didn't know how to pull off and they liked the idea enough that they were willing to stink up the joint a little to do it. I think I would've gone the route of exploring the different options of what could happen with a fusion change. You can explore the possibilities without giving a definitive answer that doesn't exist anyway. I like the idea of Captain Ginyu's soul being split in two between the two bodies and that being another possible consequence to balance out a potentially extremely strong technique. There's a lot of different directions you could go in as a writer with a half a soul in two separate bodies.

To be honest geekdom101 is one of the best dragon ball channels i have seen. Because it contains most of the information relating to dragon ball. Specially this technique guides and dragon ball depth videos.

Captain Ginyu wouldn't split personalities with the two people of a fused character post separation. My theory on this is called the: "Dormant fusion theory" and it goes as such: When Gotenks wrote down a list of moves to use against Buu, he kept it in his jacket pocket. Note it's still there when he fuses again. Also, a fused being is their OWN separate entity. So if Ginyu swapped with, let's say Gotenks, he'd have control over Gotenks and no one else. His mind wouldn't split or be obliterated. It'd reside within the fused character. When separated, Goten and Trunks remain the same. Fused together into Gotenks, out pops Ginyu.

I can see Ginyu swapping bodies with Zeno and Zeno keeping it that way 😂😂😂

I think the fact that any fused character whether it be potara or dance is a mystical technique that is only temporary, Ginyu's body change would not work or register.

It would be possible if togoma was from Ginyus actual race and change is something they can use but are not aware of, that would explain why change worked and why he was able to use the body faster.

Maybe the technique is triggered by Ginyu hearing the word change, not by him saying the word change. the reason he always said the word change is because it was just the most efficient way to make sure he heard the word. Of course, once he was a frog and could no longer speak, he could no longer guarantee that someone else would say the word change. With Bulma he was able to flatter her into giving him a universal translator.with Tagoma, he just wrote the word on the ground because he knew that Tagoma would read it out loud. What really puzzles me is how exactly did Ginyu know where frieza would touch down? We're supposed to believe that he just happened to be in the general area where frieza's ship landed. Seems like a bit of a stretch, even for dragon Ball. The other problem I have with ginyu being there is that he would have been killed when kid Buu blew up the Earth. The wish to revive Majin buu's victims excluded the truly evil.given that Ginyu returned to working for frieza the first chance he got, that would seem to imply that he was evil the entire time. Maybe you could say that porunga missed him because he hadn't done anything evil in a while. I guess that would also explain why the pilaf gang was revived. They hadn't done anything evil in over twenty years at that point.
