They're not poor. All the money generated by Tom Moore's WALK went directly to the NHS, the NHS has never disputed otherwise. The government NHS dept has been very secretive to where the money has really gone too, if indeed all has been given to the NHS, there has never been any real transparency. The nasty lying media are being used to manipulate people's minds, and it's clearly sadly working. The Spa was a mistake, & doesn't even look nice, but it was built from their own money, irrespectively & not the Tom Moore NHS charity money. The whole current argument is primarily due to the Spa in Tom Moore's name, a mistake.

@@adambrear580That's because they built the Spa in Tom's name as a charity & against the initial plans both were a mistake ....The NHS received all the money generated by Tom Moore's walk, this has never been disputed, oddly the government department for the NHS has never provided transparency as to where the money has really gone to within the NHS, it's shrouded in mystery. The media are vicious, & just milking them by manipulating the public's minds.

His daughter tried 4 times to get her spa passed BEFORE his charity was born. She then found a sickening way ti use her dads good deeds to get her spa built , to add to that she greedily took £835,000 of peoples donations to fund her lifestyle. I do hope she lives a long life....in pain !!!!

Capt Tom raises 35M for walking round his garden, gets a knighthood and has a very greedy daughter who would like to take her share. Kevin Sinfield has raised 8M for MND has an OBE and a heart of gold and is about to do seven marathon+ in seven days. No comparison really, I know where my donation is going.

They should have built it on its own site or as a extension to a local leisure centre for the OAPs to use, not in the bottom of their garden. Glad to see this, sure they will appeal but to spend charitable donations for your own gain is ludicrous, our elderly don’t need a Spa day they need food, heating in their homes and for many?, company to overcome loneliness. Pull it down now. Captain Tom was a true hero, but the family have let sir Tom down. The money raised was our money we all gave and buying the books thinking as stated in his books to help raise more for thae cause. Greedy family took. He gave all his laps round his garden for fund raising yet his daughter charged £18k for just attending an award. Shame on her.

With a bit of forward thinking they should have put one of them up for election to the local council. This is standard procedure for anyone who wants to get a dodgy application past the planning committee. There are many examples of this tactic though not all successful. Watch the future local elections.

They are wealthy people and that’s what people are taking issue with. I’ll say it again, green eyed monster pure and simple or misunderstanding and thinking it was embezzlement and it wasn’t!
