This is my 7th week on the island and I am about to have one of the best wildlife experiences of my life! Come along with me, as we explore Staffa and the Treshnish Isles on a boat tour - plus I am inspired to work on some wildlife studies in my sketchbook.

It's a wonderful place and not overcrowded with tourists. In Brittany where I live, we have puffins too , we call them macareux, they usually live on an island not far from the continent, and when we are lucky we can see some of them on the continent on wild beaches where they find food. I like the sound of their voice too. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video !

The puffins are gorgeous, but honestly, I couldn't get over how stunning you looked in the green beanie and jumper with that bright yellow of your back pack straps. Those colours are amazing on you. It's such a privilege to be able to walk amongst wildlife that is not terrified of humans. Of course with just about every animal having been mercilessly hunted it's not surprising that most species hate and fear us.

I absolutely adore this video. Puffins have always been one of my favorite birds and I'm sure seeing in person doesn't disappoint. I didn't know they were that small though! I also thought they were duck-sized. And the dolphins! I would have cried too 100% ❤ Thanks for another beautiful vlog

Puffins - and pufflings! I've been to the RSPB sanctuary near Scarborough and saw some cheeky seals while I was there - I'm so glad you got your dolphin moment x

So brilliant that you great to do something you've always wanted to do,Puffins are extraordinary little birds,and also the added bonus of seeing the dolphins too a definitely magical day for sure, I'd have been emtional too. Your paintings and drawings captured them so well. You always include stunning drone footage too which really shows amazing the landscape of mull is in all weathers. Oh Holly! I'd be crying, too. What a magical experience you had, beautiful scenery teeming with wildlife that's flourishing. Puffins are my favorite bird, so one day I hope to encounter them in the wild the same way you have.

Holly I think you just got a new fan of your vlogs, my cat! 😊 I have never seen him so focus watching tv. He seemed so entertained not only watching the puffins, but also watching you draw. How beautiful Holly. We are very lucky in Tasmania (Australia) where I live as there are dolphins regularly in our waters. Such a treat. Puffins on the other hand, you're so lucky to have spent time with them. I'm embarrassed to say that I thought they were flightless birds! Your sketches are delightful x Nell.

Puffling is the best word! I forgot to say that the parents will only have one puffling per season so there's one fluffy little ball of cuteness per burrow 🥰

I saw puffins on Mingulay last Summer and I was surprised by the size of them as well! My husband laughed and asked what I thought they would be like and was shocked when I said I thought they would be almost the size of a seagull. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who thought this!

Love this video, Holly. So calming and uplifting and the puffins are just amazing. I think my Etsy order might have been one of the ones you mentioned - I adore the Snoot Set stickers! I just wanted to comment here that they are much more than just stickers - they are works of art in sticker form. They capture your appreciation of the quirky nature of the natural world and everyone should order a set as they are just so lovely and well made.

Just paused this at 14:47 - Holly, I think this is my fave video you have made. Seeing puffins is on my bucket list too and this has given me a kick up the bum to go, so thank you! Also, your camera work is fantastic - did you have classes or figure it out by yourself? Oh, and maybe you need a tshirt that says ‘artist at work, do not disturb’ 😂. Another thing - it’s so nice the presence of people is beneficial for puffins, good to know. Anyway, back to vid…

I saw some puffins in Iceland, and it was also one of the best days of my life! I've been thinking of you a lot up there in Scotland... we (and all the birds and animals) are roasting in heat wave after heat wave here in the North East of the United States. It's 40 degrees during the day, 30 at night, and most people around me brush it off as "summer weather." I find nobody to share my climate distress with...

Thats way too hot! It really alarms me this human tendency to normalise anomalies ... we rarely acknowledge what we're losing/ what's to come. Extreme heatwaves make me feel so panicky. I vividly remember a few years ago when we hit 40 degrees for the first time, it was very intense, and inescapable. This year in Scotland and the rest of the UK we seem to be having a much wetter and colder summer than usual - after a much wetter winter than usual. I feel for the farmers - a lot of crops cant have done well.

You're in Mull, you don't need to go on a tour to see puffins, there are pockets of them on the island, find the local ranger service and pick their brains. Quiet puffin sketching awaits.
