While it is obvious that this ident inspired the Personality batch from 2001, I just childishly wonder if this car actually kept all the robot 2 units but was stuck finding its destination in a loop for 8 years.

I remember car very well but I was only born in 1989 so I'm really unsure how it stuck in my head so well, I know I watched the Simpsons, Robot Wars, and a few other things a lot on BBC 2 as a preteen in the late 90s (1999). Perhaps where it became ingrained.

The Car Ident was prominent before episodes of Robot Wars aired, and used again for the reboot in 2016.

The CAR ident is pretty good despite it being shown before the absolute catastrophe that was Chris Evans presenting the first Post Clarkson, Hammond and May Top Gear which was crap in 2016

This is my number 1 favourite ident from childhood as I had it with a VHS tape recording of The Wrong Trousers. I even did my own piece of artwork back in 2014 when the idents returned for the 50th anniversary www.deviantart.com/tulf42/art/BBC2-Childhood-485535342
