Not stopping for a bus already has punishments like $2000 fine and 4 marks on your license in some states. It's not a criminal offense, but it should be made a felony across the board. Even though it doesn't take away your license it does more damage in general because it will be on your record for the rest of your life, many companies don't want a felon as an employee, and some basic rights are taken away like being able to buy or own a firearm, being on probation where you have to constantly stay in touch with your probation officer, you could be more likely to be charged with other criminal charges, the court could show less leniency in your punishment for other crimes, etc.

Katl140 I honestly don’t believe pedestrians have the right of way if they’re jaywalking. Jaywalking is illegal for a reason but if that’s true then the law needs to change. It should never matter what situation a kid will be in adult need to teach their kids how dangerous the world is, the world is cruel and it doesn’t care. everyone is basically on their own. My parents taught me ever since I was little to look both directions before crossing bc people are crazy! My parents still look before crossing. I look even when it’s a crosswalk because PEOPLE ARE CRAZY and they will run stoplights and stop signs bc they don’t care. It’s our job as parents to teach your kids what exactly to do because the video above is evident that people do not care and are crazy , so if you want to avoid a situation where your child is hit I advise you to teach them how to be aware of their surroundings bc it’s an important lesson. Bitching at people who do that ^^^^^ is never going to solve anything.

And now some places stopped having that because of “invitation of privacy” 🙄 the one thing that honestly stated to make a difference in ones life that help make the roads a lllliiiittttllle safer is now being taken away with people that has no issue with sharing EVERYTHING on Facebook or even their phones. So having something like that be a good idea but because people are becoming more whiny about their “privacy” it may not happen.

It's a harsh world out there.. *Don't expect people to stop for you..* Look both ways before you cross the street little Missy.. Make sure there's no vehicles or every vehicle has come to a complete stop before you even think about cross.. I always get mad when I see kids at school on their phones walking beside moving cars and also jumping in front of moving cars like they own you.. I just wanna keep driving just to scare them.. If I had a hyper car I'd rev it so loud.. Yes we must stop for them, but what if someone doesn't.. What if that someone didn't see you.. That's why you should only move when you're absolutely sure it's safe..

My Man well... actually it’s the district that decides bus routes and where buses should stop. Most of the time, especially in schools with younger students, the bus driver HAS to pick up and drop off at that location. If they are found doing something else they are at risk of loosing their job and their license to drive a bus. Many times, the drivers are just as trapped as us students are

I've seen way too many children almost get hit because of these incredibly selfish and oblivious drivers. I don't condone violence but I have to say it was a sweet experience when I witnessed once, a mom go up to a driver and punch her in the face for almost killing her child by attempting to run past a school bus. She was forced to stop by the screams and horns around her. I bet she'll remember to stop for school busses there on out!
