More likely oil. Just because a car costs a lot of money doesn't mean people will take care of it. They put some oil in the engine without using a funnel, spill it everywhere, don't clean it up and are confused when the car bursts in to flames. If a lot of oil gets on a hot area like the exhaust then you're having a barbecue. One day there were plumes of smoke outside my house. Was coming out of the neighbours car. They were confused because all they had done was put oil in their new Ford... something. They filled the engine with oil to the point where it was at the top of the filler cap. Dipsticks. I laughed and went back inside. Refuse to deal with stupidity.

Don't worry, you can still scam the insurance company. They don't care so long as you pay the premiums. Doesn't matter if it was bad maintenance, an old rag left on the engine or a dead cat in the bay. Cars don't randomly catch fire. If they did my very well maintained 1991 GT4 Celica would have done up decades ago.

Wrong. EV fire fighting involves lots of water and then more water.

And 3 to 5 days if you can’t get in a skip full off water .

Perhaps because the lock is electric. Or the cable operating the lock is burnt/melted and seized?

This is my dads car. It had been serviced and mot’d just over a month ago and was always run on premium fuel. They were driving down the road and were alerted to the fire by another driver in the traffic. Initially there were 3 fires one under the boot, one under the middle and one under the engine. They escaped the car and within minutes it was burning like you see at the start of this video.

@@djkmedia380 Sorry about the loss of your dad's lovely car but glad everyone escaped ok. At this stage it's unknown how the fire started then, but it does sound like a fuel leak has started in the front and has possibly run to the back of the car while it's travelling in a forward direction. A garage inspection will hopefully reveal what went wrong on the car.

Rubbish. Have you ever tried? Have a look at their difficulties with the boot lid. You could argue that their mistake was in not using the hydraulics to open the boot after cracking the bonnet.
