Ummm, that generation of C-body FWD Cadillacs were, well… kinda crap. No tears for crummy 80’s downsized Cadillacs. Other than the full-frame RWD B-body Fleetwood-Brougham, there really wasn’t a good Cadillac until 92 when the fourth-gen Seville launched (one of the best looking Cadillacs of all time and, despite its FWD architecture, one of the best driving Cadillacs until far more recent times).

Aw, my dad had an almost identical Taurus wagon when I was growing up. Sad to see that one get crushed
@kb016632 жыл бұрын
My family car growing up the whole time we had a 96 Mercury Sable (same thing as a taurus) It was originally a dark red that ended up looking purple from being faded from the sun and me and my brother used to call it " the purple jelly bean" my goodness that thing was ugly. The reason it went to the junkyard is the HOA wouldn't let my dad park it in the street so he had it parked at a grocery store and he didn't drive it because the trans went out. He was gonna have it rebuilt even though the kbb was worth like $300. It was towed away and the yard fees was so much he surrendered the title. I would say my family got it's moneys worth out of it, it made it 295,000 miles. I tryed showing this video to my Dad and he couldn't even look.

I would trust one wrecker operator's opinion over ten commenters on this channel. The reason is simple: The wrecker has had years of experience, and knows what is worth saving, and what can't be saved. They know their business, and when it's finally time to clean the rusted hulk up, they will do what has to be done.

Your loader operator need to take some pointers from Cowboy Car Crushing
@mjc82483 жыл бұрын
As an ex loader operator its quite the opposite. Cowboy should be stacking cars like this. You always stagger the densest part of the vehicle to even out the stack as it crushes and he never does that. Thats why his stacks come out so odd.
@Dnice34773 жыл бұрын
I wasn’t referring to the way he’s stacking the cars I was referring to the way he doesn’t push in the doors or sides of the vehicle being crushed so that it folds in instead of out.

Just as he said, it isn't that simple & they may look decent enough on the outside, but can be pretty bad underneath & are not roadworthy. Some some of these whingers need to consider that, the underside, chassis & whatnot can be toast. And if the ones who whinge wanted them to be saved because they are still fine aparrently, why don't they go out & save them themselves. Though to see some meet their end at the crusher, can still be a little sad in a way though of course, but that is how it is. If it is unfit for driving, then this is how they end up.

@starxlr78632 жыл бұрын
Its neat to watch any newer hearse get crushed to see how they handle structural wise. These cars have no demand and I see several laying around in different places. But there is no saving any of these cars when the rust begins! The people that write in saying that the car could have been saved and restored.......no it could not have! When the rust starts especially around the entire roofline, there is no stopping it. Rust is a cancer and it will continue.
@hairylarry61673 жыл бұрын
You guys need to build you a " Side Ram" wall. Use some tube steel. Make it so the forks can slide into it, out of it. Use it to push those sides in without slicing into the vehicle. I could weld you one up in about an hour.

They pull the tanks because it’s a fire hazard at the shredders. We pulled them way back in the 80’s before crushing and shredding. Junkyard fires ain’t no joke.

Well I think you're wrong there check out the cowboy car crusher they drain the fluids from the gas tank oil pan transmission and the car goes to the shredder they do not remove the gas tanks out of the cars that's a bit faults because some of the tanks are plastic some of the tanks are steel and you're saying they pull the tanks out for a fire safety that's not true because there's no gas in the tanks what I'm saying is they have gas tanks laying around in front of that cruncher they've been there for years there's one tank in particular on the right side with the nozzle sticking in the air you can go back 5 years on videos as long as I've been seeing them and that tank is still sitting there so I'm just saying why they clean up in front of the crusher that's all.

Y’all act like every car ever built should be on the road forever. That shitty old Taurus was garbage when it rolled off the line - even more so now. There’s absolutely no reason to be precious about it. Some of these things probably have 250,000 miles on ‘em (although that Exploder probably dropped its transmission at 125k or worse). There are very few of the same make/model still on the road that need replacement parts, and you wouldn’t want replacement parts off a car that had been driving in Minnesota winters for the last 25 years, anyway. It’s just scrap metal in the shape of a car, at this point, and the crusher’s only job is to make it scrap metal in the shape of scrap metal, instead.
