On this episode of Classic Are Better, I finally get a car hauler!! I have to rescue it from the woods where it has been sitting since the early 2000s and get it ready for the road. Plan is to rehab and restore this old 1992 Eagle Trailer into my main car hauler for future projects.
It definitely needs some TLC, and it is going to take a lot of work, but I am excited to bring it back to life vs going out and buying a new trailer. Plus this way with the money I save, I can actually afford to get a good winch and new straps etc soon, to make hauling that much easier.
Please watch as I pull this trailer out of the woods, paint it, fix it, get new tires, stain the deck, and get it ready to get back on the road and working.

When I’m treating deck wood I use old motor oil and gasoline mix to seal the wood

Thanks for watching! I will say that the "rust" proofing spray paint hasn't held up so well, but I also didn't primer it. I will probably redo with a bedliner type product soon.

Thanks man, took a lot of work to bring it back. I'm curious about that one too, I asked the inlaws and supposedly it was the best one, like it was the last one running. Maybe I can turn three into one decent one lol.

What did you do to restore the trailer's lights and brakes or did it not have any brakes?

So on the truck I had when I shot this video the electric on the truck's hitch didn't work so didn't matter. Since then I have checked the brakes and bearings which were good, but I need to replace the light wiring, it only works 80% of the time lol.

What is the front thing where the tool box is going to go its like a tow hitch welded in the front is that a tire mount for a spare curious about that front piece

It is a hitch receiver that the previous owner had welded on (backwards). I drilled a new hole and it is a little high for a wench, but it works fine so far.

Hey man, cool trailer. Super curious what do you need to be able to haul a car on a trailer legal wise ?

Thanks for watching. Not sure what state your in, but here in TX your trailer has to be tagged, have working electronics, and not be a hazard to other drivers. Vehicles need to be strapped down well of course, but I don't know of any legal rules unless you start hauling commercially. Your local DPS website should tell you.

@@CLASSICSAREBETTER aquired an 1999 lil parker utility trailer ,was abandoned ,vin and model sticker visible, last 4 of vin welded in frame. i basically done same thing you done to it. im in ohio. how does one get tag? do just need weights slip

@@bestblackoutvideos On this trailer I was finally able to find the original title for it and had it transferred to my name. I would look into just getting a bonded title for it, cost a couple hundred bucks which sucks, but then it's yours free and clear with a good title.

The ones on the trailer didn't give me any issues so I left them, but I would definitely check them out if you find an old trailer.

How heavy is that trailer?

Not totally sure, I think it's approx 2k lbs. It has a six inch frame so it's pretty heavy.

@@CLASSICSAREBETTERhey man I just picked up a trailer and I’m trying to figure out if I needs new axles. My axles drive straight down the road but have a some camber when turning while the jeep Is on the trailer. Does yours do that while turning?

@@moejr14 luckily mine doesn't do that, sounds like the axle bearings are shot and giving you too much play under load. I would look into replacing them, not sure on a trailer, but on my C10 the bearing were only like $12 each or so. A lot better than having a wheel pop off with a load on the trailer! Best of luck.
