Car in Blender - PART I - Modelling [ Beginners ]

Күн бұрынIn this tutorial, we will make a Tesla Model S (inspired) car model in blender. This is part 1 of a 4 part series. I feel like most 3D artists at some point always wanted to make cars. So this video. It's a great introduction to modelling for beginners but we cover a few advanced concepts too. ive watched the donut series on how to make a donut in blender for beginners, but i wasnt interested. I wanted to do something I was more interested in like modeling cars. A quick tip: in mirror modifier check the "clipping" box, it will help you merge a lot easier :)

For any beginner just coming into this, the "Merge" option has changed to "Clipping" in Blender 3.0

I just started really learning Blender a week ago and I have to say, I learned so many new hotkeys in this video. I'm currently half way through the video and I've already taken notes on 6 new hotkeys I didn't know about. Some of them are "F" for creating faces and "Ctrl+X" for quickly dissolving edges/vertices. Thanks for this tutorial, you should've mentioned that you used the x-ray slider on the viewport shading settings because I spent like 20 minutes trying to figure out how you made your plane transparent, amazing work and thank you

Thank you for all your efforts, energy and knowledge to share with us! I was trying modelling in Fushion 360 a Peugeot 104 ZS old car. Unfortunately couldn't make it even if have simply shapes. I was busy with a half year or so. At the end always was complaining the fushion and giving me merge errors and so on. In Blender went like a magic even if I hadn't any experience in it. 🎉

@@greggory7655 No because it uses a subdivision workflow for a game vehicle you need to use more of a poly modelling workflow. i have done that before and it was great i sold my game models and stuff.

For a beginner, who has never modelled anything, despite many attempts in various software to transition from graphic design to 3D, this is the first time I've felt that I can ACTUALLY climb this Mount Blenderest. Maybe it's the soundtrack :) Or maybe it's just a brilliant teacher... or both... either way. Thank you - I'd almost given up the dream... ALMOST... Don't stop doing... it's the only way to keep going... when you think it's not working, KEEP WORKING. It MUST get better (especially on weeeed)...

The quality of this tutorial is like one of those Masterclass ones, except it's free! It really helped me to learn a lot of the other aspects of Blender, even though I'm on 2.93 now, as well as how to model a car with detail. Can confirm this is a good tutorial in 2021!

A quick tip: While using the solidify modifier for some thickness on the boolean plane if your car body is gone somewhere then use the Fast button on the Boolean Modifier Solver option instead of exact...

Quick tip: In 8:00 if your plane splitting in two different planes while using mirror modifiers, you can select(in Mirror modifier): Axis-X(as default), Bisect-X(and it will connect to each other)

I’ve been learning blender and I must say it is challenging you can’t just jump on this and start making videos this will take some time if you want it done right I love this software it’s a project for real 👍

One trick that I use while mirroring geo is to turn on clipping in the mirror modifier as well as the Auto Merge Vertices function on, it just eliminates almost all problems related to geo in the mirror section. Btw best car modeling tutorial I've ever seen, straight to the point, no bs and great advice + useful hotkeys all the way.

Honestly, I want to say thank you for this very simple and easy to follow tutorial. I've been modeling railroad related items in Blender 2.78 for almost 2 years now and there's a lot of stuff in this video that I didn't know Blender could do. I've been wanting to try my hand at modeling cars, or really curved surfaces in general, for a while, but didn't really know how to get started. Not sure how well this will translate to 2.78, but I think I may just transfer over to 2.8 for modeling. Thanks for this!

Incredible tutorial and I'm only 13 minutes in... the tip at 13:37 (apt timing) would have literally saved so many Blender projects but I had no idea about normal maps etc. Very excited to learn more tips like this along the way! very nice tutorial! I dont know if you already figured it out but using the „clipping“ option in your mirror modifier makes the edges snap together in the middle perfectly so you dont have to aligne the edges until the merge function of the mirror modifier works. :)

The tutorial is very good and well explained, I'm using blender for 10 years, I'm very familiar with every concept and hotkeys, and yet I'm still unable to make the hood of my car. My frustration level is so hight right now I have to stop after only 15 minutes. I shouldn't try to make things, it demotivates me so much

I think this tip will help if you face some weird shading after enable auto smooth then try to apply weighted normal modifier, most of the cases it will fix.Thanks for the tutorial

This is literally finding water in a dessert, this was extremely good and well explained especially for a free youtube video. This actually made me feel like i could improve in blender much more.

This is a very well made tutorial, not gonna lie, and I'm watching it as I'm recreating a suzuki Swift, constantly going back in the video to check how you arranged the vortex and stuff, and tbh I regret not making the whole model again, after seeing your video, now I'm 10 hrs in and got some really bad parts that I have to work on. Your content is top notch, I hope I'll be able to make more models in the future, using your tutorials!
