The crew I used to run with for meets, got tossed thanks to another group, so we ended up downtown. Which has a strict policy on loud cars. Half of our group was Chargers/Challengers straight pipped. We never did anything crazy, no revs etc we just parked and hung out. After the 6th week of seeing the same 12 people with 4 or so randoms roll up, we all have jobs. Friday night was hard for most because of scheduling, Saturday nights was worse because you had more poeple downtown, which meant more Karens to complain about nothing.

@@dnegel9546 it depends on what you like; some like the loud meets with alot of chaos which translates well for a youtube video, this one was pretty chill. though keep in mind drew in general is a complaining nature. the flashy car meets get boring after a while, it lacks soul

Ikr!! This is the downside of the modern car culture nowadays!! Most people who are attending these meets are clout chasers and you could rarely encounter a genuine car enthusiasts like us on meets in this current time. These egotistical brats, wannabe idiots, cutthroat fAnBOis, ricers, clout chasers of tiktok are the main causes of the slow dying car meets. I know that not everyone there are like those types of dudes that I have mentioned above earlier and I genuinely respect those real enthusiasts like us. It's just sad and frustrating to see all of this nowadays. The only country I know that has a genuine meets is in Japan and most people out there are polite, civil, and respectful. Whatever the type of build or style that you pull up to their meets (especially in Daikoku Futo PA), you won't get dissed and trash talk as long as you're not acting like a random egotistical idiot and wannabe there ofc. And also, you won't see ricers that much because most of them have their own culture in their builds and one of them is the Bozosoku Culture (which it eventually led to the Rocket Bunny, Liberty Walk kits scene nowadays and Bozosoku style is basically a build with huge widebody, fenders, wings, etc and they're literally based on a real life Silhouette Nissan R30 Skyline GTS-R Group 5 which you could be able to search it on Google to learn more about them if you want). One of their biggest influence in this scene is drifting (because of a real life touge race back in the early 70's to 90's which led to Initial D becoming popular and also from Keichii Tsuchiya driving his AE86 on mountain roads which is showcased in Plupsy if I'm not wrong), Wangan Midnight top speed endurance run which is really iconic and the real life club members nowadays are mostly professional race car drivers which they mostly compete in time attack events, RWB which is basically a widebody old school 911 Porsches that is literally based on a real life GT/GT3 race cars that has been adapted for a street looks, touge racing which is basically a combination of circuit and rally racing because they're literally racing on canyons which led to modern hill climb events and also Best Motoring Official are the reason why it is still popular even in this current time (Pikes peak already exists for more than a century if I'm not mistaken before touge scene became popular), Morohoshi Lamborghini culture, VIP culture, Itasha culture which is based on a real life Hatsune Miku AMG GT3 by Goodsmile Racing team if I'm not wrong and last but not least, Time attack scene which started on early 80's to 90's on Tsukuba circuit and it was adapted by other countries later on (which what we know nowadays as Global Time Attack, World Time Attack, Super Lap Battle). I know that Japan has the only one who has a big influence into this scene and let us not forget the other countries like German scene which is their autobahn run and Nurbugring tourist track run, 24 Hours of Le Mans by France, America's drag scene (the genuine culture, not some egotistical idiot trying to assert his/her dominance, dissing your car even you're just really minding your own business, playing with you on highways randomly just to prove how fast he/she is and how slow your car is even you're not ricer and you have no intention of making your car "that" fast like having a canyon/track build, a decent stance build and NOT the EXCESSIVE riced one ofc, or even just chilling and enjoying your car by keeping it OEM/OEM+ in order for you to experience its raw and authentic vibe) Nascar, Indy 500, vintage car scene. You see, car culture is really diverse and that's we really loved about. Self-expression is what makes us bring together Nakai-san's said from the RWB. We build our vehicles the way we really want and we do it not for other people's recognition but rather for ourselves. Getting recognition, praises is really just a bonus but overall, our true passion is the reason why we're doing all of this, not to grab their attentions through social media (unless you're a car content yt creator like Hagerty, Dustin Williams, Hoonigan, Larry Chen or even like Drew Peacock himself and that is literally your platform for a business but you do it because you really love it not just because you're getting popular and your ego is being feed by everyone). Hopefully the real enthusiasts meets won't die and be able to pass it to the future generations!!

Yup this is a consequence of car cultures shift of being OBSESSED with output numbers. That's all people care about. A car could be announced and the minute the performance and track numbers are released people just endlessly hype and become fanboys that think their car is the Mclaren F1 and if it has slightly less performance your car is a Geo Metro. Doesn't matter about reliability, ride comfort, handling, looks, etc.. Also today's society is obsessed with standing out no matter what remember we live in times where people brag about their list of mental illness diagnosis on tik tok. So people just slap whatever on their cars to stand out and are backseat drivers who think they are Sebastian Loeb for weaving in and out of traffic on the freeway

@lAcid Rainl I know the feeling too I live in SoCal and it rains more frequently here. I've haven't driven my baby since the last meet back in November and I just went in the garage to do a cold start and I feel the urge to take her out regardless of the wet weather. I'm just waiting for this storm to pass and get a bit warmer so I can take her out and do some shows again.
