Easily explained, really. On top of standard built in fittings such as high beams and auto right-of-way, those already expensive cars come with very expensive luxury accessory packages such as brakes, blinkers, rear view mirrors etc. However, sadly, most of those who buy such expensive cars, can't afford the accessory packages.

I've noticed that a lot of drivers just pay zero attention to what's going on behind them. They might briefly check a side mirror when changing lanes and that's it.

I've taken my licence this year and even on the motorway you should check your mirrors once every 5-10 seconds, just a quick look for 1 or 2 second to see what is going on behind you. Side mirrors of course when you lane change. But keep doing it when there is low traffic too. Also a good way to stay alert, makes your brain have to be active.

I might get bashed for this, but I've noticed that many of the drivers that aren't aware of their surroundings on the highway, are women that look like they are about 35-55 years old, preferably wearing sunglasses. They are often blocking the left lane on the highway, just cruising along happily and they have no clue about what is happening behind them. It's either them or the really old men with white hair and a little hat on top of their heads. 😉

That's because cars are bought by installment sale. The rearview mirror comes with the second last payment, and the blinkers with the last one.

Oh and don't forget the blinker fluid, thats an option. Even when the blinkers are installed at the last payment they won't work without the right amount of fluid toped off.

In the Netherlands the police, when possible, pull ahead of cars they try to stop and turn on their rear 'follow me' sign. This also lets them choose a safe place to stop (often the next parking lot) instead of leaving it up to the person being stopped.

That's how I was pulled over in the Netherlands (routine stop, I wasn't in trouble). But isn't it also the case that when you get your driving license in Netherlands, if you fail more than three times, they give you the license anyway but make you drive with yellow license plates? 😉

My parents had a friend, who did exactly the same. People called and reported her for DUI, because she was driving very erratic. The police showed up and attempted to stop her for a while, before she finally pulled over and stopped. Turned out she wasn't drunk, but was terminally ill from an undiagnosed brain tumor.

There was a similar situation in Poland, but here the police drive in front of the detainee and whenever they wanted to slow down the car, it tried to overtake the police car.

Some people are so oblivious to their surroundings, they don't care about anything else around them unless it's about them ( except getting stopped by law enforcement or yielding to emergency vehicles )

Amazing how clean and well-maintained the multi-lane highways and roads are in Sweden, compared to the dangerously uneven and rough-surfaced dirty highways full of debris, old shredded tires, rocks and random junk we have here in Texas.

as I have driven on both: they are really, but only at times, and ONLY the major roads. Any smaller than the massive ones have potholes, are uneaven as shit and outright damage your car unless you drive a high SUV or something like that. On the road from Denmark to Malmö, there has been a fucking toolbox as well as tools spread out on the road for 4 weeks. I drove there, got a flight back to the U.S only to return 4 weeks later and this shit is still here haha

Hahahaha my mom actually had the cops following her for a solid 15 minutes one time. With me and my brother in the car. Wasnt speeding or anything - just a real stressful and chaotic morning. The cops didnt even give her a ticket when she explained, they were parents too.

Was stopped in Partille on my way home from work last year. Had a really bad day at work so I wanted to get home and go to bed. 117km/h in an 80-zone. A speeding ticket of 4000kr and had my license taken for 1 month. They were very nice and polite and they even asked me why I was so nice back, because that's usually not how you react when the police takes your license. I just said that it's best to be nice and polite because then the police will most likely be nice back. Whining and complaining won't help since I put myself in that position so just had to bite in the sour apple, take the fine and call my boss that I coulcn't work the day after. They were grateful and commended me for actually going off the highway and stopping at a bus stop. Roughly 8 months later I get caught in a speed camera at 6 in the morning. It was still relatively dark and a car in the oncoming lane didn't turn off his highbeams so I was blinded when I passed the sign for the speed camera. 78km/h in a 60-zone with a truck and trailer. However, even though this was a more severe "crime" I got a smaller fine than when I did 85 in a 70-zone 1 week before I lost my license.

With many Australian police cars, as soon as you turn the red and blues on, the siren gives goes off momentarily. Did the police use their siren here? Certainly needed to.

Vad har ambulanser bakom en med trafikfara att göra dock? Såklart helt fel av föraren och om man inte har koll på vad som sker bakom en så är man rimligen en trafikfara, speciellt i samband med filbyten på en trefilig väg eftersom en annan bil kan ta "din plats" i mittenfilen när du byter fil. Och att dessutom inte uppmärksamma polisbilen när den kör upp brevid dig. Då har man fan NOLL koll. Men som sagt, hur är det en trafikfara att inte släppa förbi en ambulans med prio ett? Du är en fara för patienten och bryter mot trafikreglerna men du är inte en trafikfara bara genom händelsen att inte släppa förbi ett utryckningsfordon. Ambulansförare och liknande är utbildade på dessa saker och har säkerligen koll på hur man skall göra när någon inte lämnar fri väg. Vad det gäller ambulans och brandkår så finns det inget speciellt dom kan göra förutom att byta fil och köra om på insidan. Under förutsättning att det kan göras med goda marginaler. Spelar ingen roll hur bråttom dom har.

Var skulle föraren ha stannat? Där finns ingen direkt vägren som man kan stanna säkert på och det är bara tredje avfarten som han faktiskt stannar vid, är det en förare som inte är van att köra i Göteborg kan det vara svårt att veta var det skulle vara säkert att stanna. Men absolut borde föraren ha kört in till höger men att det tar tid att hitta ett säkert ställe att stanna tycker jag inte är så konstigt

Han körde förbi flera av och påfarter han kunde ha använt. Även en större nödficka. Det var aldrig problemet...problemet är ju att han ligger kvar i vänster fil utan att märka att de ligger blåljus precis bakom honom. Även om det inte skulle varit han de var ute efter, så måste man ju släppa förbi. Men verkade ju inte ens förstå när de gled upp jämsides.

Seems that cops have started using the red lights again. Was flashed with only blue once, I did not follow them into the truck inspection station. They quickly darted out on the motorway waving stop paddles and everything 🤣 I was surprised no comments were made about it once stopped 🤭

In Denmark the Police have a sign they wave out the window, or at least they had back when I took my driver's license. Sign says "Stop Politi" So shouldn't be too difficult to understand. Want to see other people that doesn't notice disco cars? Check out any of the blue light channels!

Ägaren är en 78-årig man (och en 80-årig kvinna är skriven på samma adress), så gissningsvis ingen mobil inblandad. Ofattbart att det inte finns några krav på regelbunden kontroll av varken syn, hörsel eller andra nödvändiga förmågor!
