I think a kill switch that runs from an electric fuel pump is best. Shut it off and no power is given to fuel pump which means no starting the vehicle. Glad my 2012 optima doesnt have push start. Less electronics are less to go wrong in years to come

Shielding the keyfob from the relay attack isn't only for people who keep their car outside, anyone can become a victim at a parking lot, a cafe or anywhere else you might leave your car unattended. The more expensive systems can relay the signal over significant ranges so it's a good idea to stay safe and have another line of security there, these shielding pouches are the least you can do. Having a seperate immobilizer, a secret killswitch or a shifter lock are among best methods.

Works but I suspect if the clear plastic lid would allow an attack to happen. best to use a completely closed metal container. I suspect the mint type container did not have a good RF connection between the lid and the bottom.

The thing with the Bouncie is a car thief can simply pull it out of it’s socket and it will no longer work.

Very easy to prevent a key fob attack at night in your driveway, hide a switch inside the car that breaks the circuit to the starter solenoid.

You do need to disable a few more things for it to really work. Otherwise, it's the only thing to do.

The Bouncie also seems like a device that could easily be abused by an abusive partner. Allowing them to keep an even tighter level of control on an abused spouse.

FYI, you're rolling the dice with anything that you leave plugged in to you ODB port. There are countless horror stories from users and a number of warnings from professional mechanics about that kind of fob causing electrical problems.

Easiest and cheapest way is to pop the hood & take out relays such as the fuel injection system or ignition system. Chances a thief is walking around with a relay for your exact car model is probably nil

The scannable barcode for the vin is on the inside of the driver door. Not on the door but on the body of the car. The windshield is not scannable.

If your car has fingerprint handles, you don't need to worry about keyfob relay attacks. Even if the burglars relay your keyfob, they can't get past the fingerprint authentication.

On the screw extractor, how hard did you press down on while trying to extract? In my experience you have to really lean on it to ensure a good grip. I think your test failed, not the extractor.

What happens if a bad guy unplugs the Bouncie? Being tracked by someone that plugged in a Bouncie? Go to work, as usual, then unplug it and go where you want. Go back to work after your side excursion and plug it back in and return home. Proof positive you didn't go anywhere?
