CAR T-cell Therapy explained (Manufacturing process & how it works)

Hey friends,
CAR T-cells are modified T cells which express tumor specific receptors. CAR T-cell therapy is therefore used as a treatment option against some sorts of cancer. How CARs (= chimeric antigen receptors) are expressed on T-cells will be explained in this video.

Could you please tell me how to design CARs? I understand CARs are delivered via lentivirus or CRISPR-Cas9 but how CARs are modified I mean there are so many CARs such as anti-CD19, anti-HER2 etc... If I want to design anti-CD123 CAR-T cells what are steps should I follow?

There are multiple proteins present on the surface of any cells. Malignant B-cells often times express CD-19. This is why CAR-T cells are engineered to express this protein.

You can search it as immunotherapy on the internet as well. It is a form of immunotherapy.
