A stylish, sleek, aerodynamic caravan that is as easy to tow and is no higher than a normal off-road caravan, but then when in boat mode you have a safe, high-performance liveable houseboat, ready to explore the many lakes, rivers & estuaries

This is one if the nicer camper-type boats I've seen. Those of you that are critical appear to be critical for the sake of the internet. The stowaway control panel is innovative and placed at a fairly good position on the boat. The head is nice. The galley looks nice. The furnishings are good, as is forward and rear access. I do agree that two engines one such a smallish boat might be overly aggressive, and that a single good-quality outboard might do. It would certainly be economical to run/maintain and allow an initial purchase savings, maybe also giving a better rear dock access. It would be cool to have access to a reinforced upper platform to sunbathe or maybe fish from. Nice boat. I just lament that cool boats like this are not more popular (and marketed) here in the States.

I would double the hp of motors but make them dc voltage jet drive. I would have as many solar panels and batteries as possible.

Excellent product we own a Caravan & 30ft river cruiser this CaraBoat makes more sense to me & the 2 engines are great. We had our twin engine boat up the Murray and one of the motors unexpectedly did a head gasket so we safely limped home on the other and make handling better.

In the mid 1970s I worked for a builder in UK. We were converting the Caraboat factory at Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire into one making "Carburol" oil products after the UK Caraboat company went out of business. So this isn't a new idea but a re-invention.

You are correct, this is stated on our web site home page & on our KZfaq page (May 22 2015 when we first posted) there are many incarnations of a trailerable houseboat style, it just makes sense to be able to holiday your way.

Yes, this seems very well designed. I think they should have some kind of deck space for boat mode though... perhaps the seemingly unused roof deck? Possibly to unstable to allow people up there. I'm sure they considered it.

I've owned 3 boats over a 14 year period and never had any major problems. The problem with many boat owners is that they don't perform the scheduled maintenance they should and run them for years without oil changes, gear oil changes, impeller replacement etc. Like anything, it you take care of it, it will last. I spend every weekend on the lake and I wouldn't trade it for anything

I really like this very cool to combination of a camper and boat but I wish it had more outdoor space or front patio / sundeck. I don’t like feeling completely enclosed in “boat mode” When you are on the water I want to feel out in the air on the water not enclosed but I guess you could add a ladder and top railing and use the top if it could hold the weight

This is awesome but I think you need to make one you can drag along on an offroad trailer and have some side protection to avoid damaging the caraboat. This would give you all options of adventure, from taking it across remote areas to the beautiful lakes and seas.

Watch as he moves the bed. It's free moving. In a sharp braking, or any kind of disturbance it will slide all over the place, possibly at high speed. It's crazy to have a thing that size that's not fastened down.

The bed is on sliding bracket fixed to the wall, its concealed & you can't see it but thanks for your eagle eye lol!

Hi Chris, great news for you, we are sending the molds over to Europe in May 2017 where serious production will start, the US & Canadian markets will be supplied from Europe, in Aus, we are too far away to make it cost effective, keep an eye on our Facebook & web site for further updates. seeing how much power it is equipped with and its slow hull design, you might manage a seagoing excursion, but more suited for rivers and lakes like the Great lakes on the calmest of days. it is 102.695.55 USD, likely not including shipping or transport ....

Surely we can manufacture those at half the current cost within Australia? If not, what about manufacturing them in New Zealand and shipping them worldwide from there? They have a good boat building industry and wages are lower. It seems such a shame to send such a good idea to the EU in order to make it at a realistic price.

this is interesting and straight incredible. but I do wonder how would it do if u live in Northern Russia or Canada. would u freeze or need a generator to heat. the Australian bruder homes have become vary popular in europe...especialy sweeten and Russia .up there in the artic either Nordic or Borealic regions

Very good idea for lovers of water recreation. But use it of using trailer and car vehicle for transportation means limitation of mobility. An even better idea would be combination of motorcamper and houseboat functionality: it would be a hybrid vehicle - with 4 wheels retractable like an airplane chassis, and a watertight bottom in the form of catamaran or trimaran. Then its owner could be traveling both along roads, and along rivers, lakes or even coastal shipping on the seas... Technically, this seems to me quite feasible for acceptable payment...

i'm curious.. there seem to be no side access for entry and exit from a dock when you might need to use a dock for any number of reasons. Perhaps you can address this issue. Not always will one be accessing fuel and supplies from on land or at a shallow sandy beach. I have not seen video or pictures of anyone at the helm. There seems to be no seating for that purpose.Can you speak to this issue as well. Please don't get me wrong, i think this is a great design, however these 2 issues could lead me to choose something different.

Hi, behind the stern sliding door but in front of the outboards, there is a step on each side for jetty access, we find it easier to pass the groceries through the large drop down galley window, bags can be placed directly on the benchtop. The helm is shown just after the 2 minute mark on the video, as its in the galley area, we use a folding stool which is taken out of the way when not required. I like this mini houseboat. Seems like you could also use it as a camper. It looks like docking would be tricky, since there's nowhere to stand outside except in the rear between the engines.

Although the concept is not new, well that's a lie, these were made back in the seventies I think in England they made them an other manufactures have been making these for quite sometime.

Well it seems that it is a good project to build from scratch and one could find an old boat hull the right size at boat yard then cut off the top and build from there or use foam and fiberglass layered for insulation and strength (except "Miracore" would be the perfect solution for all of it. Can pre-cut for any design and make modular.) Three years?? Hmm I've designed several in a day. Of course I was raised on a sailboat and have rebuilt a few campers in my day and on two projects now. The trick is no opportunity to rot, rust, corrode whether boat or camper it is water (oxidization) that destroys both. Nice advertising though!! But no way I'd even consider the price. Better to build it and design it your way and save us$75k, So like everything the cost is a factor! Thus sell plans, sell modules, sell kits it will not effect those who have the money to purchase a new one and will allow the rest of "the people" to have availability. I'm also thinking ferro-cement. Met a family that built their full size live aboard sailboat in their back yard in Maine or somewhere far north and sailing it down to Fla. Quite amazing stuff and no heavier than fiberglass, steal or wood for the same strength and it gets harder the longer it stays wet... of course I've developed different methods for stronger and lighter builds and I think the relatively flat surfaces will make it easier than other shapes. WE really are Blessed to have so much at our disposal these days if only "The people" will manage their various "Form[s] of Governments to do their job of "That to secure these Rights Governments are instituted among men" (not over them) and "to effect their Safety and Happiness." as prescribed by the "Unanimous Declaration [express Trust] of the Thirteen united States of America" And for those under (umm hello is that not a clue that something is wrong? "Under"?? Since when did Creator create man to be "under" anyone or anything??) British rule ("rule"??? again does no one see a problem with that?) have completely forgotten the Manga carta which the King was "forced" to sign and agree to. Once again suggesting that the people rule when they so choose. Know this, that all codes are private copyrighted and only apply to those who are employees, agents and office holder of the entity which adopted them and have no force or effect on the people except by "force" (involuntary servitude" prohibited by the thirteenth Amendment. Which is why no Constitution, Statute or Code uses the terms "people", "public", "man", "Woman" or "inhabitants" "shall or shall not" anything only "persons" which are created entities of the state or some corporate form of government to regulate, manage and insure that the man created entity does not harm or trespass upon the rights of any of the people, public, man, woman, or inhabitants or any of their rights. It is so simple people, if we the people can not license, regulate, tax, take, restrict etc any other then no man created entity nor agents thereof can be granted powers the creators do not have!!! Else it is a "Dick-tator-ship" and we the people need not allow it safe harbor in any of our communities!!! As one tweeter put it "We can drown them in our urine" In other words the people allow, create and promote every from of Government in the world. "Just say NO to being Governed by anyone and anyone's creation, institution. Time for the minute men again and always. Any idiot who knows not the laws not the purpose of the office they presume to hold, who imposes upon any one of us, simply hit 111 on your phone and anyone close enough who is armed or able to bring force will rally around that man or woman and secure them from the imposer, imposter with substantial threat of force and then test them as to their knowledge of the oath they took and upon failing will be arrested right there on the spot. (instant tribunal of the people for whom they serve) If they do not own it (you, your property, paper and effects) then they have no authority to even "look" upon you, your property, paper or effects (car, boat, camper, trailer, plane, et al) "The mere chilling of a right is a taking (theft)" "and constitutes irreparable harm" You see it is in our laws already (see 18 USC 241 and 242 for starters and 42 USC 1983 for remedy) the problem is that the people have allowed their children (themselves by their parents) to be indoctrinated by the public fool system and the judicial branch to be hijacked by the private BAR Ass-ociation which is now a monopoly over every case in every court and every judge, which by definition is a "criminal enterprise". When the people study their laws created to regulate govern-ment (meant to be governed) and all its creations (corporations, municipalities and the like) and impose these upon those in offices of public trust or profit, then we the people no longer will be unlawfully imposed upon and deprived of our rights, liberties, pursuits of happiness, property, freedoms, privileges and immunities any more!! (see Hale v Henkel p74 and 75 ) Oh hell you're not going to look it up (that is how we got in this predicament in the first place) "The individual may stand upon his constitutional rights as a citizen. He is entitled to carry on his private business in his own way. His power to contract is unlimited. He owes no duty to the State or to his neighbors to divulge his business, or to open his doors to an investigation, so far as it may tend to criminate him. He owes no such duty to the State, since he receives nothing therefrom, beyond the protection of his life and property. His rights are such as existed by the law of the land long antecedent to the organization of the State, and can only be taken from him by due process of law, and in accordance with the Constitution. Among his rights are a refusal to incriminate himself, and the immunity of himself and his property from arrest or seizure except under a warrant of the law. He owes nothing to the public so long as he does not trespass upon their rights. Upon the other hand, the corporation is a creature of the State. It is presumed to be incorporated for the benefit of the public. It receives certain special privileges and franchises, and holds them subject to the laws of the State and the limitations of its charter. Its powers are limited by law. It can make no contract not authorized by its charter. Its rights to 75*75 act as a corporation are only preserved to it so long as it obeys the laws of its creation. There is a reserved right in the legislature to investigate its contracts and find out whether it has exceeded its powers." Now replace "corporation" with "Government in any Form" and "the State" with "the people" and you have the proper perspective. Government is to the people the same as corporation is to the state. The people are sovereigns over the state and the state is a creation of the people and subject thereto!!! But when the people fail to manage or "govern" those in office by and through the Constitutions, Laws, Statutes, Codes and enactments, then "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". So before buying or building anything we the people of the world "are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, [those who volunteer to serve the public good must "consent" to being "governed" and in so doing are granted limited powers to "effect their [our] Safety and Happiness"] --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
