Caravan Fridge basics, Thetford fridge and Dometic caravan fridges are all very similar. The caravan 3 way fridge works on 3 settings within your caravan. It doesn't matter what type of fridge, thetford caravan fridge or Dometic caravan fridge all work the same. The 3 way caravan fridge works on 230v electric, gas and from the battery as you are towing your caravan.

Very informative mark. My fridge stop working in the summer when it was so hot. It was OK next day but had to throw all freezer stuff in bin. Didn't know about putting on gas or removing vents thanks for information.

Watch out for the dometic series 10 150L if you open the door slightly too far the hinge pin fractures. Known fault that dometic will cover under warranty, just make sure the dealer replaces with the metal equivalent. Had my van back at the dealers twice with this issue.

If running on 12volt the car’s engine needs to running. My VW manual also tells me to disable the auto stop start feature presumably to ensure the car battery isn’t flattened when running fridge on 12 volt.

This video is just wat I needed I didn't know the fridge didn't run on the van battery I'm new to caravaning amd was trying to get the fridge working wike i was at the storage place pluged my batrey in but it would only work off gass. Was worred something was wrong but now I know why!! Thank you bud great video all the best

Great as usual Mark....to be honest I would love a larger fridge in our van.... ours works wonderfully but you have to be quite frugal with what you buy food wise.....we can always dream lol... hope to see you one day ..... best wishes Paolo and Roger aka 'The Camp Caravanners'
