You know how people complain about modern music all the time and how only old music is good? I always say if you can't find good current music you're not looking hard enough. This is PHENOMENAL, and it's not just a current band doing an old genre. It's an old genre made new again and, in my opinion, made BETTER. It's amazing to see how music evolves with all the new tools we have to go wild and experiment and do crazy fun dance-worthy stuff. I just love Caravan Palace, man.

The argument that new music is bad, is dumb. Because new music includes all the previously existing genres, if you can't find new good music, it's because you're only looking at the top hit lists, not that it's impossible to find.

It's hard to see from the angle, but he's holding 4. The 4th is in the hand closest to the camera, facing away from it, so you only get a glimpse when he turns his hand just right. That being said - that's standard xylophone technique. He is an immensely talented percussionist, but that particular technique you can see on display at your local middle school's band recitals.

One of their laptops actually froze 10 minutes into the performance and they improvised, showing off their individual talents on their instruments, taking a couple of requests and telling some funny stories on one of their tours while the computer was being restarted and fixed. Studying Audiovisual elements at university and stumbled upon a text in a book about liveness: "Liveness of Spontaneity - The realization that a performer’s skill level does indeed measure up to the challenge posed by a particular composition, or to a level of improvisation expected by a demanding fan base, is what elicits excitement from the audience". It instantly reminded me of this amazing performance. p.s book is A theory of liveness in mediatized music - Paul Sanden

Yes please do! As it talks about the unconscious behind experiencing live music. What I meant with it was that you're all amazing performers and artists. Seeing someone go in for a performance with such skill and passion really makes the experience so much more amazing than just listening to Spotify. Amazing performance, wish i was there!

To be more precise, (after a quick google search, like, 5 minutes before typing this) I think it's sort of a combo of neoswing and Shag swing dancing. I'm not 100% sure, but this is where I found it: www.dancetime.com/swing-dance-styles-1872/

What's great about modern times is that our music is no longer fed to us by big corporations. We get access to music all over the world through youTube and other similar services. Probably 99% of what i listen to these days are from independantly published or small label.
