I did this lunar makeover transformation and I'm not DIY person 😜
Today I am going to show you my old caravan renovation. It's Lunar Micron 460/5 5 berth caravan so it's 90' caravan.
This was a massive DIY project on a budget. It took me over 4 months to complete this transformation.
The whole renovation cost less then £400 I'm very happy with the final result.

Well done! I love that you motivated people to try, and remind us that you didn't have many DIY skills before you started this project. It looks good. I think you did well to remove the damp from inside the walls with the dehumidifier instead of just painting over like some people try.

Power to your elbow ! We bought an ABI Celebration that smelt totally damp free. It was only when we removed the shower tray we found the previous owner had boarded over rot. With my Father in law's help we repaired the frame (& probably made it heavier than it originally was new !) We even vinyl wallpapered over the new wallboards with paper that looked like the rest of the van (thank you Wilkos)

Mieliśmy kiedyś z mężem przyczepę, teraz mąż przerabia vana... 🙄😂 Najbardziej mi się podoba to, że Wasz karavan miał damp i mimo wszystko idzie z tego wyjść. Lubię naprawić i żeby działało, a nie wyrzucać. Chyba od rodziców napatrzylam się jak wszystko naprawiali/zmieniali. Teraz mój brat się śmieje, że mamy większą radość coś naprawić niż kupić nowe 😳🙄😜

Thanks for the upload. I have got one at my Sister's place in Scotland but I haven't actually seen it yet. My sister says it's in good condition and knowing her I am sure she wouldn't have got it if it wasn't. I just wanted to get an idea of what I may have to deal with.

That’s a great floor plan. Hard to find a “bunkhouse” that’s towable by just about anything. It doesn’t look like you put the bathroom back together completely. Are you going to finish it later? For the money, I think you did amazingly well! Thanks for the inspiration!

There wasn't toilet there anyway and I didn't want to spend too much money so thera was an Idea to buy portable toilet. Thank you for your kind comment 😀

Hi Dariusz, thank you for the renovation video, it came out beautiful. We will be getting a Lunar over the weekend, due to the housing crisis in Ireland it we as a family of 4 have no choice. Please inform me what paint you used inside and also what can I do to make sure there is no damp, this is all new to me and my husband and boys. We come from South Africa and currently staying and working in Ireland so we don't know where to start. Our owners are moving back and we can't find a house in our budget range so we will be in a caravan up until we find a place.

Strip the damp places to find out where is the leak use dehumidifier to dry it all. I used wood paint amzn.to/3GBa0Kt and watched lot's of videos on KZfaq. Good luck

Very impressive video of what you achieved with your Lunar, was pleased to see it', as we have just bought a Lunar too, though a different layout inside. A good demo of why a winter cover is a good investment! Your dialogue was enough without that awful music, I hated that, and it almost made me switch off, but your commentary was just enough to keep me here. Please just talk next time? you are enough!

I bought 3mm plywood and used wood adhesive to stick it in and ass some screw's on top when needed. Good luck with your project. I'm glad you found this inspiring. That's why I made this video 😁

de linkerkant van mijn caravan heeft waterschade ,het hout vanaf het toilet is nat in het toilet helemaal ,dan loopt het door ongeveer 50 cm in de kast onder de bank door tot aan de linkerhoek,ik ben wel handig maar heb geen ervaring ik zie dat je eerst aan de linkerkant moet demonteren (wel fotograferen anders weet ik niet hoe het terug moet straks) dan het hout en het piepschuim verwijderen en alles weg is het lek zoeken en alles dicht kitten .Maar hoe en met welk hout moet ik het weer opbouwen ?eerst het piepschuim er in en daarna de houten platen die je meestal bij de gamma kunt verkrijgen maar als een stuk van een plaat rot is kun je dan ook gedeeltelijk vervangen,of moet er een hele nieuwe plaat in?

I'm glad you found this video helpful. I took only the part of the wall that was damp. Mainly the bathroom walls and some others. I used 3mm plywood and strong wood adhesive and some screws on top to just incase. Good luck with your project 👌

Hi, if you rip all the wood out of the front window. How do you put the new wood back in? Do you glue it in? Or screw it onto something?

You have to measure the window and put piece by piece. I used ALL-WEATHER SEALANT to seal the wood 4.10s and screw it too to make sure it's all secured. I didn't have anyone recording this so It wasn't showed on the video.

Dziękuję za szybką odpowiedź. Od marca biorę się za mały remont swojego szrota w jednym narożniku z tyłu-od wewnątrz wyrwałem materiał. Czekam na lepszą pogodę do otwarcia ściany z zewnątrz. Pozdrawiam. Udanych wyjazdów przyczepką!

ik was nog iets vergeten ,wie kan mij adviseren?Ik heb een Ecles uit 1989 de 440 het dak bestaat uit twee delen de lekkage komt zeker niet vanaf het dak of de ramen dat zit allemaal dicht

Hej , super filmik! I super robota! Właśnie myślimy z mężem o takim projekcie i już nawet mamy na oku całkiem tanie przyczepy. Tylko właśnie boje się tego, ze będzie dużo wilgoci ścianach. Czy w Twojej przyczepie musiałeś wymieniać wszystkie deski na ścianach? Czy był to duży koszt? Jeszcze jedna sprawa, próbuje znaleźć jak to wyglada w uk, a chodzi mi o dokumenty, czy jak kupujesz taka bardzo tania przyczepę to jest mowa o jakichś dokumentach? Co jeśli za jakiś tam czas będę chciała sprzedać? Wiesz może jak to wyglada? Z góry Dzieki!

Hej. Stare przyczepy generalnie nie będą miały papierów. Jeśli chodzi potem o sprzedaż to w UK nikt nawet nie pyta ale w Polsce już byłby problem bo tam muszą mieć papiery. U mnie głównie była wilgoć w podłodze i trochę na ścianie w rogu przy oknie. Jeśli chodzi o koszt desek i płyt to może £200 wyszło.

Yes major damp problems the interior frame work is rotten. In the process of taking EVERYTHING out back to bare shell. Clueless after that.

Does anyone know if i can buy a caravan in the U.K. without a U.K. driving license? I’m not talking about towing.. I’ll get someone else to tow it and I want to restore it whilst it is parked… I’m talking about only owning one until i get my U.K. driver’s license done… is it possible to purchase a caravan without a license?

Przyjacielu,tylko zamaskowałeś zgniliznę i zalania. Plus za chęci,ale taka praca to jak na handel. No i te niedociągnięcia w malowaniu. U mnie by to wszystko nie przeszło ;) To nie hejt,tylko zwykła krytyka. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.

Dzięki za komentarz. Jasne że dało się to lepiej zrobić ale w tym projekcie chodziło o to żeby zrobić to jak najtaniej. Ja nie miałem zielonego pojęcia o przyczepach a wszystkie pomysły były z KZfaq. Dzięki temu wiedziałem na co zwracać uwagę przy kupnie nowszego Caravanu. I tak też się stało bo ten wyremontowany poszedł do żyda bo okazał się nie dość że za mały to również za stary bo jak mówisz gdzieś ten grzyb zawsze zostanie a po roku czy dwóch wyjdzie na nowo. Pozdrawiam

@@DariuszTech Dokładnie jak piszesz. Też się dużo dowiedziałem podczas remontu. Tylko,że ja wszystko wymieniałem. Masa pracy. Mam nadzieję, że teraz masz coś suchego i na lata. Chociaż jak się widzi co jest pod drobnym zaciekiem,albo co lepsze na ścianie, gdzie nie widać... Uważam, że takich w 100% idealnych nie ma,a te nowe nie są już tak budowane jak kiedyś. Powodzenia i szerokości!!! (:

Przyczepa jest z 2007 roku sucha ( przynajmniej ja nic nie znalazłem) i serwisowana była od nowości. Jak na razie jestem mega zadowolony. Spaliśmy w niej na sylwestra. Było -5 na dworze a w przyczepie +22 coś pięknego. Już się nie mogę doczekać kiedy się skończy ten cały "lockdown" I bedzie można dalej ruszyć. Szerokości
