Slight warped!!!

I’ve both purchased and seen multiple big brands where they were about the same or worse. This is a carbon fiber shaft so unlike wood, it won’t move and continue to get worse.

Same here actually! I was playing every day had to have my cue in the car year round. ha ha. How things change when you get older.

The diameter of the butt cap was shown briefly at 1:49. You can use that number, plus the joint diameter shown a few seconds before, plus trigonometry, to get any diameter on the butt if you are good with math:)

I have the same question, can’t find weight bolt using flashlight either ... wish I could make it 18.5 , it’s 19.5-20 as delivered, too heavy for me

The predator was a 314-2 with a standard tip diameter of 12.75mm. The tip does not appreciably affect deflection. Lots of data to support that, go see Dr Dave's website for more info.

​@@nickp4793 I didn't mention deflection (mainly driven by shaft material) or english (tip size doesn't = more english). But I totally get why you might assume that's what I was thinking because of what was in the video. I wasn't clear... was just wondering if my eyes were right. From my view, wide tips seem to be more forgiving which can be interpreted as... it can somewhat hide small flaws or equally could be interpreted as... wide tips offer a little less sublety in control (again, no expert here, just my perception). I did decide to buy a Konllen AS series with an 11.5 tip. Beautifull cue, no warpage or defects a few seem to complain about. Looks stunning and feels great. Was just under $400. Basically $100 more for the Safflower Pear wood, abalone inlays, and the option for the 11.5 tip. Very pleased. Would love to have a Predator or any other quality name brand, but for someone who just plays for fun I simply bought the Konllen because I want to develop my feel/habits with a relatively decent cue and the price difference is significant. The Konllen wasn't exactly cheap, but in a range where I went for it. Think it was wise choice. Plays great. No complaints. Hard to imagine there can be a huge difference between much more expensive cues with respect to playability.

@@trevorwesterdahl6245 Yes, I agree. I think the Konlin is a great value for the money. You get a whole cue for a good price. I did like the shaft, and if my aim was not already fine tuned to the Predator characteristics, I would have probably kept it. Fast forward a couple years after I made this video, and I did eventually get the Predator Revo 12.4 shaft. I like it a lot, it plays to me exactly like the Predator 314-2, and I didn't have to make any aim adjustments to my game. Good luck with your game:)

@@nickp4793 Awesome! Your comment is why I bought the Konllen... once you adapt to a certain cue, seems like a lot of work to switch. I played enough with random bar cues to know I wanted consistency. Kept noticing big differences. Glad you got what you wanted and are pleased with it. Good luck with your game too!

My guess is yes.

It should work for any cue-sports. However if you mean Snooker, those cues are generally a smaller tip diameter, but this will still work.

I don't have mine anymore... Does the rubber bumper remove? If so, there might be a weight bolt behind it.

@@alexpersu9579 Sounds like no weight bolt then, and you are stuck with whatever it is. Unless its really deep and you can't see it.

The weight bolt may be as far as 6+ inches deep in the hole, if you look closely you will see the threads in the wood hole where the bolt was installed, they take a bigger hex head wrench

It is Simonis 860. The speed is perfect.

Carbon fiber shafts made by Konllen are the same that they sell under the brand "Preoaidr" (Predator knockoffs). They're all crooked... Butts and wood shafts are not that bad for those prices, but stay away from these cheap carbon fiber shafts.

@@AngrierGorilla Yup. These are junk. I have JFlowers equipment and they are very good quality. They are not all the same as you stated in another comment.

@@ianswenson4575 JFlowers are pretty good, I have tried them. But I think the producers are pretty much the same. Obviously with JFlowers they put much more quality in their work. And prices change accordingly.

@@ianswenson4575 and by the way, I found one crooked JFlowers carbon shaft as well... This was the first clue. Then the fact that JFlowers are sold by the exact same sellers on AliExpress, with the same marketing strategies. Second clue. So I made 1+1... But it wouldn't surprise me either to discover that far more prestigious brands produce in the exact same factories. Maybe with different construction parameters and therefore higher quality and higher prices.

This is why people need to order the Konllen cues from Amazon not J Flowers. It's the same exact cue just different logos.

They arent the same company.. the cue is made by the same manufacturer.

@@miamiwax5504 I've been trying to figure out both companies for the past week reading/watching reviews. Ive come up with the same conclusion. If you get the Konllen on Amazon and unhappy, return is super easy as opposed to ordering it from jflowers site. Plus jflowers charges $40 for shipping and no longer offering the black hard case.

I have no idea about either company, and am frankly surprised there as so man comments one knocked off the other. Both are bottom tiered Chinese brands, and the only reason anyone buys them is they are cheap. What I do know with 100% certainty is JFlowers was an American casemaker a few decades ago. So whoever owns the JFlowers cue company knocked off his whole name.

Dude they are both low end companies. That's like saying Timex knocked off Casio watches. It doesn't make sense. They are the same company.

@@nickp4793 No they most definitely are not the same company. Jflowers is muuuuch higher quality. Just because it's made in China doesn't necessarily make it junk. In fact the most popular cue brand in the world is made in China. Can you guess what brand that might be.

Frankly, both of these brands are brand new to pool players. Players wouldn't even care. There have been a bunch of people commenting saying the same thing you are. But when you go to a pool room and take to players, no one has heard of either brand. No one even cares except some people commenting here. That's why I think they are some sort of shill. Also fyi, I had about 5 comments that I saw a few months back from someone that worked in the factory saying they were the same company. For some reason youtube held the comment for me to review, and I didn't even see them until recently, but they were originally written one year ago. I forgot to approve them, so they are gone now. Anyway, the guy in that comment said that they are the same company.

@@AngrierGorilla Wrong. I've talked with JFlowers company before. They stated specifically that these are knockoffs of their stuff. I have JFlowers equipment and it is top quality. Just as good as the big name cue companies imo. Don't spread false information please. Thanks
