You can isolate your pump with a secondary chamber, like a air compressor chamber from harbor freight, then set up two ball valves. One for the pump, and one for the bag side. Alternatively you can buy a mac valve to blow off the air when you turn the pump off. However, I think the secondary chamber is the way to go as you can pull vacuum on your bag, while also degassing your resin at the same time. A real time save, and money saver, is a Amprobe Ultrasonic Leak Detector (Ive tried the cheaper ones and they do not detect the same wavelength). Its a luxury item, but by far one of the best tools you can buy to save time and money to prevent leaks that will destroy expensive cloth.

Thanks for the feedback. I like the idea of degassing at the same time as the vac is pulled on the bag!

@@Designer103 u dont need a leak detector ... for small pieces like this you need your ears or you can turn off the "resin out" line and wait 10-15 min... if the vakum holds you are good to go never put tape on a fabric ... unless you want to cut it out later in the process you dont need the peel ply or the mesh ... unless you will do something bigger (those infusion materials are desighned in a way that they allready have channels in them) get the strechy bag... its just better ... but u need to do some experiments on which one works best for you (some pro tips ... put the kit/gum on the bag ... and dont use a roller... fingers work best) i dont understand why you guys put holes in your bags ... put the "resin in"/ "resin out" tube under the bag... no holes ... no problems i wuld put the peel ply over the "resin out" instead of mesh becouse its dense and will slow down the resin... a sock also works ... yes im an engineer dont put the "resin out" on the material... you will just soak up more resin than u need to... u can use a black background or black mesh to see the bubbles and you shuldnt get under 0.8 bar imo
