On the ecolot elf , they built a clever prop stopper with a mountain bike brake.

Recently had the chance to fly this one at an EU airfield. Very solid and mature aircraft compared to many other offerings in the EU 120kg/ US Part 103 Ultralight Aircraft class.

I like this aircraft - the twin boom design works great as a pusher - have been free flying for the last 20 years and I am so attracted to this aircraft - watched all the videos and love its electric also - Congrats on yr glider it looks sooooo good.

Hello Jim, I cant find any USA dealer for this? there is the electric version(electraflyer) but i want gas version. which engine is that? i see i can contact song in Czech Republic directly but would hope to find an existing USA dealer, melody aircraft (previous USA dealer) is no longer around. how much is this without engine and avionics?, sure could use some good advice, are you 100% happy with aircraft and quality?, id like to keep it at ultralight specs. I assume your in Corning Ca.?

congratulations and thanks for the nice video. Do you have more info about the glide ratio engine off and also the real weight of the machine ready to fly? I hesitate between an Ekolot Elf and the Song 120.

I dont really know the real glide ratio because I dont have the folding prop option so the prop will free-wheel and slow you down I think. The weight is defiantly over the US legal weight because I have it loaded up with options...GPS, strobe, fuel flow computer, duel fuel pumps, etc. Sure flies nice though!..and very comfortable too!

Beautiful pictures. If I could you give a piece of advice: use your air brakes/spoilers and steepen your descent angle to the runway on landing.

Only when you turn off the motor and glide.

I've had a large number of model motor gliders and I got rid of every single 1 it's just so boring I imagine the full scales the same way and you won't know a large number of fatal laxin or connected to motor glasses because people think they can do things and get out of a situation and people that have a motor glad I don't have any skill to begin with
