Theres nothing wrong with halogen they work and don't blind other drivers on the road like some of the other lighting systems

I just ordered a 21' CC 4x4, I've had a 15',17' and currently driving a 19'. Biggest upgrade was the 8sp trans, lots more torque compared to 6sp. I did have the torque converter issue on the 17' was replaced at 70k miles. I drive a lot. Truck is very easy to drive and long trips aren't bad. Average 22 mpg on interstate. Only issue is the brake lights burn out fast. Each truck has had at least 2 burn out. They need to go led.

Tacoma didnt get LEDs until recently, where they are still only available in the top trim or in a package which is hard to find.

Incredible. They managed to make zero upgrades over my 2017 Colorado, take away remote start, and somehow manage to fuck up by retiring the amazing Laser Blue color....and then have the gull to charge $5000 more. I honestly had a thought of getting a 2021 Colorado until I saw this video.

I bought a used 3021 v6 colorado with 81,000 miles, no issues so far. Drve it last June 2023 all the way from Chicago to Temecula, CA, and from there to the Death Valley (US largest national park with hundreds of miles of off-road trails), despite the fact that it is not 4x4, we climbed up to 9,000 feet in the park mountains , 3 days camping. And 6 months later, drive from Chicago to Providence RI (more than 900 miles away), powerful v6 engine, fast. I recommend it !

I believe Chevy is rolling with the Colorado's current set up until 2023 so yeah, very basic small changes for now.

I like the Colorado especially the 4 door option with a long bed, surprisingly the wheel base is only a couple inches more and the overall length is about 6-8 inches. For the life of me why they want to sell you 5 a foot bed all the time is crazy, my opinion, I hate short beds and I think they’re useless even if your a mountain biker hiker etc. and don’t tow or whatever the extra 12” makes a difference when you want to carry anything other than a cooler and some groceries.

An interior no cheaper than the Toyota or Ranger. Meanwhile Ford is charging $40k+ for a piece of shit with zero suspension mods to compete with the ZR2. And Toyota wants $45k for a TRD Pro package that's 100% inferior to a ZR2.

The fucking Frontier is absolutely ANCIENT. This isn't the fullsize truck market. Midsize trucks don't get major redesigns every 4 to 5 years like fullsize trucks.

According to the 'build and price' section on their website, you can get a similarly equipped full size pickup with a v8 for about $5k more. Not sure why these are so expensive, but people seem to keep buying them.

You can find parking spots large enough to park in. You can drive into most underground parking facilities without crushing your roof . You can park it in your attached car garage and still close the door . Fuel mileage is impressive especially with the diesel version..you can quite easily reach into the box to place or retrieve items. And you are making a statement that says you are enough of a man (or woman) to not require compensating with a big truck to show you have made it. There really is a lot to like about these slightly more compact trucks.

My guess why the lights are still Halogen is that they did a market survey which indicated that most Colorado owners would balk at paying LED replacement prices when/if there is a cracked headlight or minor accident. which is another way of saying Colorado owners and smaller truck owners are inclined to be cheap, whether income or habit or both.

Did I hear that right? Z71 has remote start but the LT doesn't? If so that's crazy. My LT 2018 has remote start. I like the new front and back. Shame Chevy isn't adding a key fob and LED lights though.

I have a 2019. It is a really good truck. No problems at all. No squeaks or rattles. Everyone is going to like there brands. Did not like the Ford. Owned a Toyota. It was a good truck also.

It seems to me that the changes are purely superficial. It’s the same truck, not a 3rd generation. A bed liner is an option. I prefer a bed mat. I don’t get why some people obsess about electronic features. I like my Colorado just the way it is, and I’m glad I bought it when the manual transmission was still available.

That new front end looks unsettlingly disjointed. Like the truck are a wide mouth fish in reverse. Aesthetics are always a matter of taste. I prefer its predecessor.

To everyone defending the lack of features, the amount of competition in this segment is high and this refresh doesn’t cut it for what most people look for in modern cars. Lack of safety features, tech, plastic interior, etc. is not a great look for a 2021 vehicle asking north of $35k for a mid-ranged GM clothed interior. I suppose if you want a new truck with tech from 5+ years ago, get it, but when my Civic has more standard features and a nicer interior, that is a bit appalling for a “new” truck.

How about bring down the price every year? GM: ask yourself these questions about every vehicle you produce: Does this vehicle get the best MPG? Lowest price? Lightest weight? Most power, most performance? How are you going to get a person to spend $36k on this truck? It would sell at higher volumes at $14k.

Nothing’s changed but the exterior from what I see by the front bumper and rear tailgate which the tailgate doesn’t have the Chevy logo it’s instead the word Chevrolet on the back of the tailgate.

The closest thing I have found on this truck is the rear parking assist which detects objects behind the truck.

The door storage on all 4 are useless and the cup holders are a joke 16oz cup or less. I also hate that the backseat passengers don’t have air vents and you have to blast from the front 4 vents.

Pretty disappointing as refreshes go. They redesigned the front end, but don't have LED headlights even on upper trim levels and they stamped Chevrolet in the tailgate -very little effort was made that's obvious. No push button start, no active satiety features, garbage interior materials. The only reason it's not the worst in class atm is because the Frontier is almost 20 years old, but even that truck has a replacement coming next year. Another important thing that should be mentioned is that the 8 speed transmission in the Canyon and Colorado is prone to a shudder issues. I'm the member of several Colorado groups online (I have a 1st gen) and I see that issue discussed frequently by owners.

Ridgeline may not look nice but neither is this. Ridgeline has a nicer interior , resale value and smoother ride plus is more reliable . It can tow and has a bed, that makes it a truck buddy !

I think the seats in my Colorado are the best of any vehicle I have owned. I took it on a 4000 mile trip and had no complaints about comfort.

Make this truck 3 inches wider , 3 more inches of rear leg room , 6 more inches of bed space. Make the 4.3 v6 engine standard with a 10 speed auto. Now you will have a decent mid size truck for 200 lb Americans!

I park my Colorado comfortably in a standard storage locker. With your changes it would be a tight squeeze. It’s perfect the way it is. There are big trucks available for those who have the room.

I am still absolutely amazed at the price for a poorly equipped truck. No real standard safety features, no led lighting, no nothing. The government needs to consider mandating all safety features as standard equipment.

Only thing I wish they changed is the bed, it is WAYYY too bulky to in my opinion, if it was slightly more shallow/thinner like the tacomas I think it would look a lot nicer.

Without reading comments I will say that these compact trucks new are grossly overpriced for what you get was recently in a dealership southern ontario and 48k 51k for a 4 door minivan with a 4 foot box i think is a little ridiculous you can a full size with a v8 and 6.5 foot box at least for the same money and get similar gas mileage

I would guess that a 4x4 is a smaller segment but that is what is reviewed most. WHY?

I would think the opposite--in most parts of the country, it seems more people want a 4X4 in any truck (midsize or otherwise). Out here in the Midwest where I am, it's rare to hear of someone buying a 2WD truck.

@@americasevilgenius I live in middle America and surrounded by truck manufacturing plants and 4x4 seems to be bought as a status symbol rather than a work truck.

Yet the Tacoma still comes with a trash front diff that's been vibrating for 15 years and a clutch pedal that's been infamous for squeaking for 15 years.... worse yet, a frame infamous for 30 years of rust rotting, recalls, and lawsuits... and Toyota still refuses to give it a proper anti-corrosion coating.

@Zachmanz71 Agreed, I was looking at a new 18 base, but it was over priced for what they offered, a truck with no cruise control, no keyless entry, no powered mirrors tilt only steering adjustment, (love the 6spd manual gear box) dealer wanted 23k but it should not cost you more than 19k out the door with tax and shipping

Its called profit. The dealer buys them from the factory, and the dealer sells them at the suggested price. The dealer has to make money too.

I am a fan of Chevy trucks, but would not buy a vehicle of any kind with an old fashioned key in 2021. Come on GM, you need to do better.

Wish everyone would stop buying the over priced crap the auto makers are putting out these days. But we know that isn't gonna happen. Most young people now days run out and buy a brand new vehicles before a home of there own.
