The labels DO try to push less sexual songs by female rappers but those songs NEVER do as well , I like pills n potions, Be Careful etc but those songs don’t do as well on the charts. It’s just business. They’re giving the public what they want. Also shock value is the best marketing tool, you always have to keep pushing the envelope to shock people, pushing limits and pushing boundaries and pushing again, it’s only going to get more extreme as the years go by , that’s how I know music videos in 20 years will literally be pornography because were running out of boundaries to push. 😂

It's like all they talk about is how sexy their bodies are or spending their man's money. But in reality, there are many different race out there thinking that that's all we black women are about. So disgusted with this Kylie cameo and how she was presented. Clearly, Jenner's team (particularly her mama, Kris Jenner, advocated for her to have a dignified role (as much as you can in this gross representation of women). Meanwhile ALL the women of color, including the lead artists, displayed raunchiness. Basically this same stereotypical, voracious sexuality of Black women persists. These women definitely do not know their history and have clearly learned NOTHING from the current times and societal inequalities. We’re fighting to be the center of our stories and once again you place ‘Becky’ in a role above you or at the very least, allow this to happen?! How does you (Megan and Cardi) get played as a prop in your own video!??! And Megan goes from a feature with Beyonce' to this?!! WOW! SMH. AWFUL!!!! Cardi and Megan get an "F" for this one. They need to do better. What's even more disappointing is they have NO CLUE much like those in the comments who are claiming concerns for these BS is "not that serious". Like Cardi and Megan, they, too, need to learn their history. I feel blessed that these days we actually have representative of young Black women in that can be seen owning, running businesses, leading movements, creating industries and solutions, being smart, thoughtful and dignified in their movements and not just waiting to be chosen. We need more in the music AND movie industries particularly due to the denigrating language and imagery by, toward and about Black women like this is promoted for the world to see. If there is a reality that sex sells, they could have excluded Kylie and replaced her with Normani (and OH GOD Normani really needs a team that quick placing her these type of role --- another talk how all together) or someone else of color. There is no reason for Kylie to be included in the new rendition of a song from a cult classic, BLACK movie. TRASH ALL DAY LONG.

I wish too but in the rap industry there's high aspectaion when it comes being famous everyone wants to be famous and get the dalla dalla bills. And also high aspectaion when it comes to music video's. Some rappers don't do that and its really low which is sad thats why some rappers songs don't come out as big has some of their song are at the bottom. Some people seems to like woman being sexualized, drugs, sex and other things that rappers talk about that it hypes the viewers up for some reason. i dont ever thing the rap industry will change in the future I guess it shows that if ur song doesn't fit the category that rappers these days rap about ur not going to be famous u might be the one in the bottom of the trash bin getting money at a low rate.

it's one thing to be objectively critical of the music/lyrics, it's another to be a self-righteous prude. That "empressive" lady is a prude - and that's sad. And the really sad thing is women being critical of other women expressing their sexuality or questioning their validity as artists because they make raunchy music. Women don't have to be serious poets taking on serious issues to be valid; there is room for all female artists to express themselves in any way that they choose. The entire notion that a certain type of artist is more valid or valuable than another is pure snobbery and internalized misogyny. Yall need to evolve and leave the pearl clutching behind.

Jasmine H Men do have songs that are strictly about sex and are overtly sexual. Have made whole careers based on it. Juicy J, Juvenile, 2 Chainz. No one is calling for an overhaul on the male rappers lyrical content. 2 Chainz and Rick Ross just had dancers on IG live during their verzuz battle and was throwing money at them and no one decided to think piece them. They’re grown women that can discuss the sex they’re having or not having however they want to. No one is stopping anybody from searching and finding the music they want to listen to. Hell nobody even finds music via the radio like that anymore. Streaming services usually have algorithms set up so that you get recommended artists that are similar to the music that you typically listen to. So if you are actually listening to female rappers like Noname and Rhapsody then you’ll probably get suggestions to listen to Tierra Whack and Kamiyah. So the fact that people aren’t “finding” these artists is because they aren’t looking for it.
@SexyButCurious3 жыл бұрын
What the FUCK are you talking about, she's not no prude I mean there's nothing wrong with being sexual but this was kind of stupid as a female I think we should definitely embrace all female rappers whether they want to be sexualized or not but they definitely need to do something better than this video and song
@serenity92053 жыл бұрын
Jasmine H that’s the point I’m making. You can’t criticize them for the making they music they want to make just because you don’t want to hear it. The point I’m making is that most people’s means of listening to music isn’t having to search vinyls at a record store or listen to the radio to find a new artist. Streaming services have placed new music and new artists at your fingertips. It’s not hard to avoid music you don’t like and it’s not hard to find music you do. So I don’t buy people’s excuse of music being foist unto them. So again if you’re listening regularly to music you like, 90% of the time the streaming services are recommending or putting together playlists of similar music and artists. It’s no work on your end and you’re not being forced to somebody’s Top 40 hit because of the radio. So I’m just saying it confuses me when people complain about certain types of music but then listen to it to complain about it. If overtly sexual music isn’t your thing than Cardi B and Meg thee Stallion aren’t artists who’s new music I’m checking out. WAP is a perfect example because it’s not on the radio yet so you literally have to have searched for the song or clicked on a link or watched a clip to hear it.
