We continue this series by taking a look at our first ACLS algorithm, the cardiac arrest algorithm. This is the one that you will probably use most often and arguably the most important one. It will be imperative that you know this algorithm and be able to act quickly on the American Heart Association's (AHA) simplified approach to this emergency situation. While this is no replacement for certification, the hope is to provide a good resource for learning either before class, or in the 2 years in-between certification.
**Full disclosure that this video is NOT associated with the American Heart Association (AHA) and is merely a review of the information provided in their guidelines. Additional resources can be found at: cpr.heart.org/en/resuscitatio...

Great review! Very easy to follow and learn. I am getting back into acute care after taking many years off to raise my 4 kids. I am taking ACLS tomorrow and this was a great review for my old brain!

I have been a critical care nurse for years and just wanted to say excellent presentation. Stumbled across your video and wish I would have had this long ago when I was a student. I subscribed and you definitely get a like!

What kind of ICU do you work in? I’m thinking about starting ICU as a new grad

@@kevinruiz4125as of now I am trained in all critical care units (ICU,Neuro, and CICU) however I started as a new grad in ICU years ago.I would strongly suggest starting in a critical care unit. Within this environment you will become a very competent nurse. If you find out critical care is not for you, the knowledge you have gained with the usually required year there will make being on another floor feel easy. If you choose not to do critical care, you may start to feel uncomfortable with situations that may need a more skilled nurse. I like being that nurse. Good luck to you and you’ve chosen a great career.

Presentation was clear, precise, and very helpful. I was expecting a comment about magnesium when the torsade de point rhythm was presented, but recognize that would be an understood part of the overall treatment process. Thank you for taking the time share this information.
