Why are your LDL’s elevated? Are you eating a lot of saturated fats or red meats on keto? An anti inflammatory/Mediterranean/keto type diet can be done being predominantly vegetables based with Whole Foods, healthy plant fats, such as avocados & olives, as needed.

Recently I found my LDL has gone up and I was really shocked because I do play tennis, running and weight training regularly (at least 5-6 times a week) . And on top of it I really follow healthy diet (no sugar or processed food only lean meat protein and plant based diet) and I have close to 10-12% body fat(almost flat stomach) and still my LDL has gone up. After hearing from my doctor about my high cholesterol, I got really confused and not sure what else I can do(besides running, exercise and controlling low carb or sugar diet). So I started googling videos about LDL cholesterol and then I found this video. After watching this video, it perfectly makes sense. Based on my past history I found my overall cholesterol is high but I noticed that my HDL went up, my LDL went up and my Triglycerides went down and that's what Dr. Ali is mentioning that if you have low carb diet you will notice this change. Now I am relieved! Thank you Dr. Ali and Dr Berg, this video is really helpful, gives you insight.

Yeah it’s pretty rare. Most of them are machines with no critical thinking brain, no empathy for the patients, no willingness to think or work, yet it’s exactly these type of doctors that are arrogant, ignorant and full of themselves. When they can’t tell you what’s cause or disease behind the quite obvious symptoms , they have the audacity to tell their patients to “stop imagining things”, or “you need to go to see a psychologist”. These doctors needs to be fired. They have no willingness nor ability to care for patients

Rodolfo B. Schnabel, did you understand them to say that if you go on a low-carb diet and your LDL goes up, it's likely that it's the large-cell type LDL which is ok? As long as it's not the small-cell type that leads to plaguing?

@@pamelah3739 I appreciate your comment. Would that be the vLDL? Otherwise, how can I identify those small cells? The analytics give me only these three cholesterol types: HLD, LDL and vLDL (the late I presume to stand for very low density lipoprotein).

Thanks for this upload👍. My mum is 98 years old. She is a WWII veteran who served in New York City. She is dynamic. She walks up and down the hall with her wheel cart 8 times a day since the winter has kept her inside. She outlived her teeth, so they are false and wears hearing aids. She eats well, likes a cup of coffee and an alcoholic drink once in awhile. Has always eaten butter, eggs, cheese, bacon, red meat, fish-still does. She loves to read and do puzzles and calls me from her landline once in awhile and writes me a letter and posts it. She lives in London Ontario Canada. Before the pandemic she went on the bus by herself and also attended church. She will be 99 on June 24th this year. I am praying that l may get to see her on this wonderful day. Oh, she doesn't take ANY medicine at all. A couple of years ago she mentioned to her doctor that she got tired quite a bit and the doctor kind of chuckled and said, gosh Jean people a lot younger than you get tired, try taking vitamin B for energy. She beat lower bowel cancer at the age of 69.....Her mother succumbed to bowel cancer at the age of 89. Grandmo had surgery where they removed a growth the size of a small cabbage from her bowel. She passed away four days later in 1979. She never was on any medication in her lifetime either. Neither of them were over weight, had blood pressure or diabetes. The common denominator l see is their healthy diet, staying engaged and moving. Processed food and being stagnant is killing the world......just saying 💪. God bless these two wonderful men for sharing their knowledge with the world.❤❣🧠👍

Dr. Nadir it is so refreshing to see an MD make the connection between nutrition and how that effects the body. Having had high cholesterol all my life I stressed about dying from heart problems. I wouldn’t ever take a statin because I felt that the side effects were not worth it. I had a calcium scoring test about 8 years ago when I couldn’t take the stress any more of not knowing and it came back with a zero. I’m 62 years old now and haven’t changed my diet ( pretty Keto in its nature). I love butter and chicken skin, olives and sardines. I do have some carbs here and there but eat veggies and salads along with my meats and fats. Good HDL, low Triglycerides but small particle dense LDL and I still had nothing. I also made the connection with the brain needing fat and how Alzheimer’s became so big after we were told to have a low fat diet, poppycock. Our country is being held captive by the drug companies and they’re killing millions of people with their badly conceived treatments. More power to your efforts to really save peoples lives.

Hopefully you will learn about cancer metabolism and you will be taught that drug interventions may not always be necessary to treat cancer. The metabolic theory of cancer has been getting more and more attention because it provides an alternative explanation for the cause. One that fills in some holes and inconsistencies with the somatic mutation theory. Today most oncologist will look at u as if they were stunned by any suggestion of a place for the Warburg Effect. Please look at the work of Thomas Seyfried, Lewis Cantley and other's who advocate for the metabolic theory of cancer.

I've had symptoms warranting the test. So... when my test came back w NO BLOCKAGES, my cardiologist was "astounded"! My pulmonologist says no lung disease, so my next testing will be for stenosis of the subclavian artery. I have been watching Dr Berg for months and have switched to Keto and IF and have lost about 18 lbs. I am taking D3 and K2 MK 7 due to low vit D levels. I was so stressed at work because I couldn’t think properly, I couldn’t solve problems which was part of my job, my memory was gone! I had a brain scan to see if I had a problem with early Dementure, that scan was clear. My husband found a testimony of someone on the internet, that explained my symptoms completely! He stopped the statins and was absolutely back to normal. I stopped the statins immediately and in a couple of days, I was back to being able to think and solve problems. I have been on Keto since January 9th, I’m sure in the future I may be told by my General Practitioner, that I need to go on to Statins, I will say no, especially in light of this Dr’s data. Bloodwork again 1 month later, Cholesterol 283, LDL 184, HDL 92, Triglycerides 60, Ratio 3.1. I was so proud of dropping to 183 and then a month later 283!! Scared me. This makes me think I’m okay and will continue to resist a statin. I’m going to see if I can get a full lipid panel. 🙏

I lost the first 50 lbs on Adkins and got sick... so overall I am down nearly 100lbs from my peak. In December, I visited China in close proximity to lots of flu patients... miraculously, I did not get sick. Just had my blood tested and all levels are in normal ranges... so my experience with Keto has been quite positive.

Dr. Berg, I think the LDL is one the highest priority questions about the keto diet. I know it is for me. I had a right main by-pass 20 years ago and continue to do well in that aspect, but unfortunately, over the years, with 'life' happening, I would go on and off of my American Heart Assoc. diet. It wasn't that it was hard to follow, but my stress increased greatly when I got into nursing school, managing my family, etc. In the meantime, as I gained weight, I also acquired Type 2. I didn't waste any time doing the right thing, but with losing 2 husbands along the way, again fell off the wagon. Now, that I'm alone, I can focus on just myself with my diet/exercise. Low carb/keto has been a godsend for me. It is the easiest way for me to eat. Not only is it healthy, but it is so filling and satisfying. I just naturally do IF and it's amazing. Before this way of eating, I couldn't go 4 hours without my glucose dropping rapidly. Now, I can go for at least 18 hours without eating. I love cooking just whole, clean foods and cannot imagine ever going back to my former self. Thanks SO much for having Dr. Ali address and explain it. I would love to go to one of his and your conferences.

Thank you Dr. Berg and Dr. Ali. It's sooooooo refreshing to hear the truth and know that there are still good people like you guys out there. I was told that I had high Cholesterol at my check-up about 3 months ago. I was prescribed a 90 day supply of (Rosuvastatin) and took them each day. I'm 67 years old and weighed 192 LBs at my check-up. I now weigh 161 LBs after I started scrutinizing everything with sugar or alcohol added to it. No more fast food. I started eating healthy food, cooking it myself. I also work out every couple of days and drink lemon Water every morning. I'd never had my blood drawn before my check-up, and I'd also never really had a check up. The Rosuvastatin was also the only prescription that I've EVER had. I wish I hadn't taken the statin, that will never happen again. Dr. Berg has changed my life for the better and I'm thankful for his wisdom. I also thank God for allowing me to find him on my computer. Thank you gentlemen.😊

Great interview. Dr Berg is someone I listen to all the time. I have eaten keto ,mostly carnivore for 4 yrs. It's great. Will never change this way of eating. Dr. Ali is brilliant. So smart. I could listen to him for hours ! Thank you both

I’m watching this video again because it is simply so important. I’m not a Doctor, so it takes me a bit longer to fully understand Dr. Ali’s explanations because it is a lot of material to take in. This video has so many intelligent points that need to be understood and learned. Thank you to Dr. Nadir Ali and Dr. Berg !!
