Defibrillated pts have a pattern with time! Upto 3 min if performed, >/= 1/3 patients survive, then 4-5 min 1/4, 6 and more 1/6 survived! Great lecturer btw!

What do I do if someone collapses but still has pulse? Do I just wait for emergency services? And what exactly do the emergency personnel perform when they arrive at the scene?
@dominicandry1055
@dominicandry1055 2 жыл бұрын
If someone collapses but still has a pulse, its a good idea to constantly monitor them until emergency services arrive. If the patient is vomiting or coughing up spitum, try turning them over to try to clear the airway. If you hear the patient snoring, perform a jaw- thrust or head-tilt-chin-lift to open the airway.

I have a potentially dumb question: In the vfib ECG at 7:30, I see a narrow tick every 3 large boxes or so. What is this?
@brittanyorban938
@brittanyorban938 2 жыл бұрын
This bc example of “vfib” is completely incorrect. That rhythm strip actually shows movement artifact, not vfib. Those “narrow ticks” are qrs complexes buried in artifact. It is simply not vfib and very sad the makers of this video didn’t know that.
@joemck85
@joemck85 2 жыл бұрын
@@brittanyorban938 That was my first thought but I didn't want to say it because I don't have any medical credentials. I'm just a fool who got a tiny 1-lead ECG on ebay, read how to use it to capture all leads sequentially, and then started teaching myself how to read the squiggles it makes using internet resources.
@birolsay1410
@birolsay1410 2 жыл бұрын
@@brittanyorban938 And the second strip can easily be explained as a vide complex supraventricular tachycardia without examining the whole ECG.
