Incredibly, the left side of the heart pumps out the total blood volume in one minute. Please give me as many 'likes' on these videos as you can, it helps the channel to grow.
Blood Vessels 6, Regulation of blood pressure
Choose one true statement;
a. the carotid sinus is found in the arch of the aorta
b. the carotid sinus contains a lot of chemoreceptors
c. the carotid sinus is found in the external carotid artery
d. the carotid sinus is found in the internal carotid artery *
e. none of the above are correct
Choose one true statement;
a. baroreceptors from the aorta travel to the cardiac centre via cranial nerve IX
b. baroreceptors from the carotid sinus travel to the cardiac centre via cranial nerve X
c. increase in blood pressure will cause a reduction in the numbers of action potentials generated by the baroreceptor
d. lowered blood pressure will cause increased stretching of the walls of the carotid sinus
e. none of the above are correct *
Reduced frequency coding of the inputs into the cardiovascular centre will result in;
a. increased sympathetic outflow *
b. increased parasympathetic outflow
c. reduced heart rate
d. reduced strength of inotropic contraction of the myocardium
e. dilation of systemic arterioles
Vasoconstriction of systemic arterioles will;
a. decrease blood pressure
b. increase tissue perfusion
c. increase systemic vascular resistance *
d. decrease systemic vascular resistance
Heart 7, ECG Waves
At rest prior to contraction, an individual myocite will be electrically
a. negative inside *
b. negative outside
c. positive inside
d. neutral on both sides of the external cell membrane
A normal sinus rhythm, ECG trace always has a;
a. P wave after the QRS complex
b. P wave before the QRS complex *
c. 0.3 second gap between the P wave and the QRS complex
d. 0.05 second gap after the T wave before the next P wave
The P wave is generated by the;
a. depolarisation of the atrial myocardium *
b. repolarisation of the atrial myocardium
c. depolarisation of the ventricular myocardium
d. repolarisation of the ventricular myocardium
The QRS complex is generated by the;
a. depolarisation of the atrial myocardium
b. repolarisation of the atrial myocardium
c. depolarisation of the ventricular myocardium *
d. repolarisation of the ventricular myocardium
The T wave is generated by the;
a. depolarisation of the atrial myocardium
b. repolarisation of the atrial myocardium
c. depolarisation of the ventricular myocardium
d. repolarisation of the ventricular myocardium *
Blood Vessels 7, Pulmonary circulation
In which of the following vessels will blood pressure be the highest?
a. the pulmonary artery
b. the aorta *
c. the pulmonary veins
d. the inferior vena cava
How many pulmonary veins drain into the left atrium;
a. 0
b. 1
c. 2
d. 3
e. 4 *
Rank these arterial vessels order in order of descending size
a. interlobar, segmental, lobar, subsegmental, intralobular
b. intralobular, lobar, segmental, subsegmental, interlobar
c. interlobar, lobar, segmental, subsegmental, intralobular *
d. lobar, intralobular, segmental, subsegmental, interlobar
Select one true statement;
a. pulmonary lobules do not have any lymphatic drainage
b. the terminal bronchioles are more narrow than the respiratory bronchioles
c. respiratory bronchioles have isolated alveoli in their walls *
d. bronchioles have small rings of cartilage
e. the right lung has 2 lobes and nine segments

did you mean to say 5 litres pumped out 'per contraction'? can't imagine the heart holding 5 litres in ventricles at any one time, i thought it was more like 70ml per contraction. 6.30 minutes.
