The riffle shuffle is one of the most well known card moves in the world. Used at the poker table for card fun between friends, this flourish is easily recognised and shows how good you are with cards.

Here's a tip: press your index finger on the middle of the deck to make it curve better. you can also bend your thumb to make it easier to release the cards.

It's so satisfying that after a half hour of practice I can do a really slow really bad riffle and I'm being dead serious that feeling of the cards just shuffling together just right is magical in its own way

I like the index finger positioning! Bending the deck with the index fingers stretched out, as opposed to using the knuckles, was way easier for me! I get a way better card release. :)

i used to just shove the deckt in between eachother because i couldn't to the bridge, but now i did it! (i tried it first when i just got out of my cast, still recovering for that was yesterday)

This is by far the best technique (and tutorial) I've seen until now. Changing my hand placement according to this video made my shuffles 2-3x more successful than before. Just one question? Why use paper cards? They're fucked up after only one tutorial. Why no plastic cards? Is there *any* benefit in using paper?

Hmm. I used to have the same problem. Put your thumb more on the middle of the short edge. It allows for a more smooth riffle

It's a visual flourish and probably helps keep the cards straight since you're bending them in the opposite direction.

How does one riffle shuffle when using cards that don’t want to be bent like MTG or Yu-Gi-Oh cards?

You just don't. Though if you avoid the bridge part and just press the two stacks together, you can avoid what is probably the most damaging part of riffle shuffling cards. That said, good quality card sleeves should *mostly* protect trading cards.

When not using a table you SHOULD NOT make the cards meet at the top corner. You're making people have a bad habit

Works with all kinds of cards. Don't need a new deck but it is a lot nicer to practice on a new one. For the bridge to look good you need the riffle shuffle in the beginning to be pretty exact. If there are packs of more than 4 cards it will look pretty clunky.

I’ve seen tons of these tutorials and they all fail in the most important part. When talking about the prerequisites, they never say what kind of cards you need to use to do the trick. You can’t obviously use normal playing cards, you have to buy specific “casino style” decks, otherwise the cards are not suited for the trick. Really can’t believe how nobody even mention this in the comments

plastic cards are better then normal bicycle cards. Its too easy to do it too, I can even do it in the air no ground.

You want a laugh? I came here to this video because another video said I needed to see this first... and this video does the same thing. I'm going down a fucking rabbit-hole just trying to learn how to shuffle a deck of cards properly
