Love all these self working tricks, CM! I've pry got like 6 of em down I think exclusively from your channel. Down where they're easy and can add a little flashiness. The one card trick I've known forever. 21 cards, 3 rows, point to your card... You've shown me faster and more entertaining ways to do that trick and I've just been having fun learning with cards.

Since the top and bottom are the cards on top and bottom you can reveal an envelope at the end with a prediction of the selected cards. Make sure not to tell the spectator that they were on the top and bottom.

Is it really classed as self working if it requires a set up? It's only self working assuming you set up the deck. There are several tricks ive seen that are self working with no set up...

Yes, a self working trick means there is no sleight of hand and you only need to follow a list of instructions to get you diaries result. One of the directions may be setting up the deck

Does the first cut ever mess up the alternating order?

If you cut and complete the cut immediately, it changes the starting point but not the pattern. If there’s a black on the bottom, then there’s *supposed* to be a red on top from alternation (the swapping of two cards messes with that but it’s meant to be a red), so if you cut and complete it, then you’re just putting the bottom black next to the top “red” and keeping the pattern the same. That’s the fun thing with cuts and these kinds of circular setups

To get those shuffles just right may require firm cards in good condition, practice, or a slower method.

I tried it & it didn't work. He speeds thru the 4 pile shuffle & cannot tell whats going on there.

@@Cryogenik_1there is no four pile shuffle, he just deals the cards into four piles then shuffles the diagonally opposite piles. It works. It doesn't require practice, just follow the instructions exactly.

Make sure to put each card into each pile in a clockwise or counterclockwise, so the black would be diagonally to each other and vice versa.

There's an even number of cards, meaning the top and bottom card will be different colours. Regardless of where you split it, the bottom card going onto the top card will be different colours thus preserving the colour alternation.

How do you not screw up the shuffle? I can forsee trying to learn this and having multiple colors on both sides if you dont shuffle perfectly. Idk, im just trying to understand, no hate.

He deals the piles in a circle so one pair of diagonal piles contains every other card. If it doesn't work for you, look at the piles after dealing.

The diagonal corners are stacks of the same color, so shuffling the diagonal corners gets two piles, one of red and one of black, all facing the same way. EXCEPT for the two chosen cards since he switched their positions at the beginning, so those card are in the wrong stack.

Did you make sure the cards are in alternating colour before starting the trick? Make sure to not shuffle, just do a card. Lastly to switch the two cards.

Yup very important that when you take the top 2 cards out you put them back in opposite order

Also possible that you missed the the proper way to deal the four piles as he speeds the video up too much at that point. Don’t do it in a Z pattern. Deal the four piles in a circle instead.

@@TheEternalPheonixno you have to shuffle the opposite corners to work. At the point he has 4 piles laid out he has all black cards except the 1st one at the base of the top left which is his chosen red (I can’t remember the suit or number) and the bottom right. Ben you have all reds in the bottom left and then the top right by it has the chosen black card at the base. Once shuffled together he has all reds in his left hand and all blacks in his right hand. Then he flips the black but he could have instead flipped the red it really doesn’t matter. No he has all red and his chosen black facing down in his left hand and all red but the black card he chose is in his right hand for us all to see. This could easily have been any other of the reds again it doesn’t matter. Then once you put them together and shuffle you will always have all red facing down with h just 1 black facing down and all reds facing up with h 1 red facing up. Sorry for the long post I hope it helps.
