Join me on a walking tour of Cardona, Spain. This town, with its dramatic Cardona Castle, is often overlooked by tourists, which meant I was able to wander around the castle undisturbed.
After exploring the castle, I walk down to the historic town and wander around the narrow medieval streets. We also see incredible views of the castle from Mirador del Castell and from Placa de la Fira.

CARDONA
Cardona is a historic town located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Situated approximately 90 kilometres northwest of Barcelona city, it is nestled in a scenic valley at the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains.
One of Cardona's most remarkable features is its rich history and well-preserved medieval architecture. The town is best known for the imposing Castle of Cardona, a significant fortress dating back to the 9th century.
Perched atop a hill, the castle offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and houses the Dukes of Cardona's residence. The castle's architecture combines Romanesque and Gothic styles, with the Torre de la Minyona (Tower of the Maiden) being one of its most iconic structures.
Another notable landmark in Cardona is the Salt Mountain, an impressive natural formation of salt that has been mined since Roman times.
