Am a final year student will do my exams on Monday, my teacher taught us to wear gloves if we are coming into contact with the patient so any procedure that requires you need to touch the patient wear gloves 😊

Gloves is mostly recommended if patient has a contagious disease (skin disease). From another school of thought once u come into contact with patients skin u shld wear gloves. With the ward, the best thing to do is to go to the ward and check on the kind of conditions there, familiarize with where they keep their supplies and patient's 'stuff'. Engage the nurses there to know the examinable procedures there. If its a surgical paediatric or medical paediatric ward u will know what to expect. Note that general procedures (those that apply to both med and surg cases) can be given in every ward. Also be mindful of dose calculations in paedis wards when u are given medication tasks. Wishing u all the best.

I will say that if the patient doesn't have any contagious skin disease, you shouldn't wear glove.

Wear gloves (examination gloves) for the procedure. It's acceptable to also do it without gloves if the patient has no skin lesions.

Are we supposed to wear gloves when cutting nails and feet
@nursingart24710 ай бұрын
This question is dicey for me to answer. I will say if patient has no particular contagious skin disease there will be no need for gloves. However u can choose to wear gloves and have ur rational too. I don't see a strict rule to it. (remember the 'patient' is not a 'nasty' object that 'anytime' you touch him/her u 'must' be in gloves, u will need to have reasons for wearing the gloves, moreover being in gloves and working in fluids (water) can rather provide a medium on your hands for microbial growth. I hope u understand the argument here?)
