Thank you! I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Justin Fields fan. I love the guy's heart, I genuinely believe he is improving each season, each game. I really, really want the Bears to keep him and then trade the #1 overall for a huge haul of picks. If they could pull off something like what Peter King mentioned in his column a couple days ago... ... my goodness!!! That would be OUTSTANDING! Now, about Caleb Williams... I just do not see it. I watched him play in several games throughout his career, including being able to watch him play in 7 Full games (meaning I watched the entire game seven times. Living in the Midwest, that was about the best I could do) Of those games, he had 1 incredible game! Outstanding! Off the charts! He had 1 really good game... better than almost every other College QB at the time. Then he had 2 HORRIBLE GAMES (yes, one of them was the Notre Dame game.... total debacle). And the other 3 games were... meh. I sincerely look at him like I looked at Bryce Young from last year... Meh. I would so much rather the Bears trade down for as much as they can get, or possibly go get Marvin Harrison Jr and then with their other pick (#9), go get a highly rated Left Tackle like Jor Alt. THAT is the beginning of a real solid TEAM!

I watched highlights of both QBs back to back yesterday and it’s obvious that Fields is a better athlete. He is bigger, stronger, and definitely faster. My problem with this whole thing is that it’s obvious that the Bears need a different coach. They didn’t address the biggest problem.
@0-Elias-0
@0-Elias-0 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, I watched those highlights, too. Although Fields is a better athlete, Caleb is a better quarterback. The key for me, though, is that Fields is more athletic than every NFL Quarterback. While Williams has the best college highlight reel that I've ever seen. So - if I'm the Bears - I'm keeping/drafting both players. Then I'm holding a QB competition while working diligently to develop each guy.

I would love for one of these reporters to ask Poles how much responsibility he holds for Fields stunted growth. Poles passed on multiple WRs in 2022 and select two DBs. He gutted the roster and left Dante Pettis as Fields WR1. This past offseason Fields helped Moore and Kmet play at top 5-10 levels while the OL only addressed RT. Poles again used premium 2nd round picks on defense and passed on C, G, and LT. Outside of Moore, and Wright, Poles hasn't done anything to make sure Fields succeeds.

Fields hasn't had stunted growth though. Look at his passing stats through only 9 games last season. 2500 passing yards and 16 TD's, in 2022 he had 2200 passing yards and 17 TD passes in 15 games. Plenty of growth, but for some reason the media has an agenda to push.

Caleb Williams is not Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow played arguable the greatest season in college football history. It's not the same.

At this point I really hope Justin goes to Atlanta and has an amazing career and Chicago drafts a bust and continues to be terrible.. I can’t see how a franchise that has NEVER had a good QB is so critical of the most talented qb they’ve ever had

@@jumpstreet2425 why cause you believe he’s the next Patrick Mahomes cause the people who didn’t even recognize the first Patrick Mahomes say it? Lmao y’all drinking the look aid.. Justin has had no stability at coaching, terrible oline play and minimal weapons.. NTM all that was wrong with the Defense.. What I do know is, when they called plays to his strength he looked top notch, multiple games where he was near perfect in the first half of not perfect and the coaches took the ball out his hands in the second half.. I look at his track record with ELITE recievers at Ohio state and last year with DJ and say Give the man another 1000 yard reciever, protect him and give him a play caller that believes in him.. Chicago fans being critical of a QB and y’all never had one is laughable 🤣🤣

These guys are so stupid. Drafting Caleb is the wrong decision for the bears they’re in the middle of finishing a rebuild they were a game away from the playoffs it makes no sense to try to restart and possibly ruin everything when you’re right there. Trade the pick for a historic haul and keep building around Justin.

The "Best" QB option for the BEARS is the one that plays along side a more competitive ALL-22 team. Continue to BUILD around JF1! It's obvious - he's a stronger, faster, tougher, equally accurate, more humble and more "Pro-Ready" version of Caleb Williams! The only plausible argument for drafting a new QB this year is to reset how much money the Bears have to pay. If the Bears do this, everyone must RESET their expectations for playoff football in January 2025.

Someone who watched every USC game last year and with that loaded offense Caleb Williams is not who they think he is. When we look back at this draft class he wont even be the top 5 player in it.

Apart from Addison in the last draft and Brenden Rice this year, which other USC WR would you regard as being NFL caliber? Caleb didn't have awesome WRs to throw to like Daniels (Nabers) and Stroud (MHJ, Bowers), Maye (Walker), Penix (Odunze, Polk), and Nix (Franklin). Caleb didn't have top NFL talent WRs to throw to at USC. Bears will have to add more WR help no matter if they draft CW or stay with JF. Luckily WR is a deep position in this year's draft.
