I brought a Puma STline X Vignale last Oct in UK with my pension lump sum from NHS. She's black and I love her. So classy and drives well. Had the sunroof put in too. Could of done with boot automatic unlock instead of massage chairs. Love heated steering wheel

Without getting too excited, I think its sex-on-wheels for the price point. Incredible amount of driver assists. Bit sad about no AWD option but a worthy crossover competitor. I think it mimics a Baby Macan.

Rented one in Noosa. It's a very nice drive. Lovely interior. Petty decent punch for a 1.0 L 3. Good driving dynamics.

Just bought an ST line V (AUS) - grey matter with black roof, as a second car. Love it. Still think the Toyota CHR has a more luxurious and quieter interior but the driving experience with the Puma is worlds apart. Better and more responsive engine, sharper steering and handling, more settled ride, and loads of important safety features (especially with the park pack). I test drove a Puma with a sunroof and while i usually go for a sunroof, I found the AC struggled on the hot QLD day we drove the tester and decided not to take it. Overall, this is a win for Ford.

Love the look of the Puma and seriously considering buying one. The only thing I hate about fords is the way the screen looks like an added extra that has been stuck on to the dash. Other manufacturers build the screen into the dash so look miles better.

I find the screen very easy to use while the car is moving as I can balance my hand on the edge of screen so really like it where it is (and that it is slightly above the dash rather than embedded).

Excellent review, Paul.👍 It is actually a rather nice little suv, certainly better looking than the boxy Tcross. Would be nice if Ford has added a bit more premium touch to the rear cabin with soft touch materials, rear directional air vents and center arm rest with cup holders, in this top spec model. BTW, Bob is not my uncle but John is and incidentally, John is a (retired) builder! 😂😂😂

A good-looking vehicle. The only gripe I have is the second row door panels do look a bit "cheap". The rest I would say is good. The Mazda CX-30 will win in terms of overall fit and quality though. Probably in driving comfort as well.

Some Puma transmissions have L mode. How should it be used correctly and safely? How can you apply engine braking while descending long mountain roads? There is no possibility of manual intervention. What should be done to downshift and avoid overheating the brake pads?

Nice review and a good looking car that I could mostly live with. Fuel economy sounded good until you put up the conversion figure for MPG! I did a check, and you appear to have quoted US gallons. Given this is a review for local Australian buyers, you might want to provide the imperial measurement conversion for us old codger Aussies!

As far as crossovers go, all of them have been boring blobs to me but the Puma really stands out. Not in the same way as the Juke does for being absolutely hideous (especially the first model). Ford has hit the styling just right and that blue colour compliments it perfectly.

The same people saying bad things about its styling are the same people that think the new Isuzu DMax is good looking..... I would definitely leave the sunroof out of the equation. I sat in it at the dealership and I liked it, however if rear space is a concern then the Escape is a better buy. Seats were very comfy.

My son has a poverty pack model as a work car and it’s great to drive. Very zippy for a three pot motor with a turbo. Great steering and very responsive.

Great runabout, 2nd car or probably older empty nesters?... Good height for older people too I’d guess. Will be interesting to see the longevity of a 1litre, 3 cylinder with a few k’s on it.🤔👍🏼

Bought mine a week ago. A very well thought out SUV. I like everything about it and think Ford got it right where others failed miserably, hence me buying this one. But! Only one thing i do not like on this Puma. The high beam, if that is what you can call it. It only gives off some distant yellowish light. It just does not do it. Normal front light is fine. I can live with that given everything else is great. After all.... No such thing as a perfect Vehicle.

I’ve sat in Puma without sunroof and can confirm it is far better for headroom. So that’s something to consider.

I love my Puma but Paul- the mesh in the windscreen is so bad. It shows up in the sunlight as shiny prisms. It can show up as cloudy patches on the windscreen as if it’s dirty. It fragments headlights at night as well. Also the exterior rubber seals that start our side then go inside over the wheel hub keep detaching. I’ve been back 3 times in 9 months

Shame they have no manual trans option as the dual clutch auto is a deal killer for me. I really like it and could get past the tiny engine but not the dual clutch.

I just 'built my own' Puma ST Line of the Ford website including 2 tone paint, park assist package and that great twin sunroof..45K!!??? That's Mazda MX-30 Astina money..

Trail mode is likely just for gravel roads. Refer to the manual.

The front I'm still not a fan off (although I'm getting used to the look, thought it was ugly AF when it first came out). However, the rest of the car seems to be good. I can't really complain what ford has done. Also, these can run on 91 octane fuel, it just "recommended" to run on 95.

Most cars will run on 91 RON fuel, but it's an easy way to create an exit for a warranty claim if they can prove you've used the wrong type of fuel.

The bright blue background on the drivers display is beyond irritating - I imagine it would get really annoying having to look at that thing everyday (sport mode looks much much better). Also, while I'm at it, the white background on the main screen is also annoying. Dark screens with bright text is always easier to read at a quick glance and less distracting in my opinion

Really enjoy your reviews which I just discovered recently. What I really don't like though is that your assesment of buid quality takes 5 seconds on each review, just trying to wiggle the center console a bit. Build quality is so important and deserves a little more attention, me thinks. I'm probably in the minority but it's hard to see someone forking out $40K drive away for the base model plus pay extra for safety equipment that's standard on other models in the class for what is really a hatchback dressed to look like an SUV. Granted I'm not the target market as a 40 year-old but still, I don't get Ford's proposition. :smh:

Hard to get excited about an SUV. It's just an appliance. Sure beats walking but after that... 72 kW/t yawn. With so many better options that are faster and cheaper with better warranties I can't see the attraction to this vehicle. If you want a Ford why not get the cheaper, more powerful and better handling Focus?

Nice car to drive but when you take of it rattles and vibrates for half a second driven plenty of em they all do it, it sounds awful.its a typical 3 cyl engine like all of them on the market that no engineer can get rid of.not worth the money in my opinion
